RUF comes with a successor of the legendary CTR series, this time based on the Cayman.
http://www.autoweek.nl/images/480/a/b6f95e9f91a12e26ce6b085f8e62565a.jpg
It will have a 3.8L Twin Turbo engine with 700(yes, SEVEN hundred) Hp and 890 Nm. Seven speed automatic gearbox, and a topspeed of 360km/h
Knowing RUF it will be mindblowing, and I think it already does a great job at keeping the CTR name legendary.

gosh its cool, the lines oh! but holy beep! 700hp!!! woah that is awsome! darn, thats just a great car! but beh, its an automatic. not that good compared to a manual, but who cares when you could go over 300kmh, but wow this is amazing, the middle looks absolutley awsome, the three vents and the roof scoop which finally will have some use, darn its just so good! the wheels makes the car even better, they are so huge! but then, the only think i hate on this car in that picture, the rear vents, they are abit weird on the car...looks abit too big i think, but then its just awsome, gosh just look at those exhausts...and is there vents on the top of the wheelarches? thats so cool!
darn, i cant wait for the official photos

It looks like a more modern Porsche GT1 but slightly less radical in design.
I loved the GT1 and although RUF is a seperate firm, they are a repected company with a history of producing top quality cars.
I would love to see the offical pictures and some performance stats

looks good on paper, but it'll be a case of power corruption. Maybe i'm wrong, but half that power will probaly just spin the wheels, what ruf need is to design a car from scatch to handle 700bhp.

That looks brilliant. Looks like a dumbed down GT1 actually. But with the good looks of the Cayman, it will be a stunning car. Crazy power aswell, 700hp!? Jesus. And 360km/h = approx 225mph so it will be bloody fast aswell. Can't wait to see official pics and stats for this beast. WIll be very interesting, looking forward to it.

Whoa! Thats abit swish. Looks very slipery, as people have said it reminds me of the GT1. Also though, can't help thinking that it looks like that new Carrera-GT/GT1 Porsche are supposed to be making. So its got a 700bhp engine, twin turbo's, and a err... automatic gearbox. Bugger that, if I had 700bhp and a car like that, i'd want to swap cogs myself. But it looks quite cool, any views of the front?

Extend the wheelbase, and you have yourself a GT1.

amazing, I love the design and the fact that its 700 horsepower!
It really reminds me of the new GT car coming out. I also love the back wheels and how the bodykits accentuates them, nice wing!

I think I might be the only one that doesn't like that it has that much power. All that will do is get you killed in a car with that much boost.
I'll take it with 500 tops, 700's just ridiculous.

It's a great car imo.. looks like the proposed GT1.
Great job RUF. Can't wait to see this thing on 'ring or on the streets.
The engine might scream better than Hally Berry does.

I just looked at this car and thought it was a CGT with a Cayman front-end and rear-end. This looks much more appealing than the CGT. If there had to be a nicely powered mid-engined Porsche with a long wheelbase, it had to be this one.

That's lame. They need to make it on the damn 911 and they know it..
A CTR cayman? so lame.....I mean i'm sure it'll be nice and handle and be fast and all, but will it really be up to 911 CTR standards?

Apr 12, 2007, 2:48 PM
oh my god that interior looks awsome, but still, hate that steering wheel design, and yea, in that 3rd pic, it does look very very very similar to the CGT, especially the engine, darn, that looks good
Porscheboy
Apr 12, 2007, 2:48 PM
Well it's just a Cayman shape, it's a tube-frame chassis. This is a full on race car with a nice interior. I love it, no doubt, i just really wouldn't want 700HP.

hmm, i can see that the taillights are better from what i can see. those other grills on the car make it look weird, i never really have a taste for 911's or similar looking cars, but i think this one looks alright.
