Ok.....my dad and I have decided to buy a new car. The choices me came out with were either the E350 or 530i. They are about the same price. We went to different dealerships to make deals. The 2008 BMW 535i is coming out this month and there will be no more production for the 530. The problem is, there are only 4 left in southern California. We made a deal and the payment was about $600 a month. It exceeded our limit. My dad wants maximum $550. Then we asked them how much the 2008 535 will be. I was amazed!! The girl said because of high interests, the monthly payment will be over $760 a month. So we gave up on the BMW.

Now we go to the Mercedes dealerships and they said about $550 for the E350. My dad talked them into decreasing it a little bit. The guy went dow to $530. But the problem is, they don't have the color we want. We want arctic white with black leather. He checked if any dealerships have it so they could ship it but NO ONE in the USA had it. Can you believe it? He checked more and finally found ONE that just came from Germany and is still in the port. He ordered it so now he said wait untill Thursday. It might come early. And also, this has even more features. It has the sports package, the premium 2 package, and also it has an ipod integration set and burly walnut wood inside. I can't wait for it to come man!! The total price for the car is about $57,000.

Congrats on the E-Class...they're really nice cars. I'd pick that over the 5 series, I've never really liked BMW.

Doesn't really help having a comparison seeing as you gave up on the Bimmer. But anyways, i'd easily take the Mercedes. Its the last car with a good Mercedes interior. But looks a little dated right now.

The E-Class is a better choice, i know a guy who just got an E350, i haven't seen it yet but he got it for his wife, they love it. I would think they would charge you more to ship it though.

maybe this should have gone into the comparison section; you may get better attention there. anyways I'd take the Mercedes if i were you; its an excellent car and Mercedes cars are usually very safe and provide good features and comfort. The BMW is good but I'd take the Mercedes if I were you; to me its just a legend make.

I chose the 530i because I am a ridiculous BMW fan, and have never really loved the E-class all that much.

they are both really good cars...but would pick the beemer cuz it is safer than the benz, n i'm a big fan of beemers..so...but the benz is a really good car.

you made a good choice with the benz... it seems so much cheaper too.. the benz just looks better too.. i see too many 5 series around also.. ive only seen the new E class a handful of times so its got more presence

Wow, great choice 360Spider, the E350 is definitely more better than the 530i. I never really like the 5 series, their looks didn't really appeal to me and they looked bulky and long. Oh and when you get it, be sure to post some pics of it!

ill take the Merc, the BMW is all wrong, the i-Driver is wrong, the lines are wrong, those whole car is basically, wrong...it would be better if it was the M5, but that would be more money and you get a lady which could say "this option is unavailable now, please try later" the whole day, bad, the 5 class is wrong, the E39 was much much better...

so ill get the Merc, it does look quite weird to me and not that agressive compared to the 5 series, but beh, its a merc, what do you expect. but the interior is cool, and if you could afford the AMG, get it, very good car

Anyhoo, The E-class is due to be updated soon. So if you can wait say, well, it'll be a while, maybes 6-months, the new E-class will be out. That'll drive down the prices of the older one, and make it cheaper. Might sound stupid buying an older car, but not when it's $5000 cheaper. That's just my 2 cents though.

You dont know anything. My dads had 2 BMW's a 328i E36 and a E46 318i, guess what? They've started everytime, they've never broke down! My dads friend, has a E46 M3, and 4.4Si X5, guess what, never broken down..

AND just for the record, my dads friend, also, one of the BIG bosses for the company he works for, has had mercedes since the 1990's from 1996 to be exact he got his first Mercedes, he liked it, then he bought a brand new E350 after a while, and it broke down, mercedes couldnt fix it, thats got to be serious! He thought, its just bad luck, you know, his other ones were reliable, he then bought a C class, not sure which model, but i know it was supercharged, that car broke down on him so much, he went mad, he sold it, and guess what his driving now, a 550i, and his never been happier!

So they break down alot ey, get your facts right buddy!

i prefer the Mercedes... i've been with those cars and the mercedes is much more confortable and pleasent to drive... besides that since i dont have any of those... i'm tired of BMW's every one wants one here in Portugal!!!

Personally I would have chosen the BMW. The 530i with M-Sport rims is an astonishingly good looking car. Goes like stink aswell, 3.0 six cylinder engine definitely packs a punch. In my opinion the E is looking a little dated, but they do look good in the flesh, my neighbour has one, and in high spec they definitely look pretty damn good. Congratulations on your new purchase, take some pictures when you get it!

Aight thanx you guyz. When we went to the dealer, we asked the manager when the new E class is going to come out and he said about 2-3 years. So that's a long time. It's not coming out in 6 months. If it was, my dad would of waited. I know him. But to tell you guys the truth, BMW has the BEST warranty. No other car company has a warranty like the BMW. The replace ANYTHING......including the brake pads for free..........of course if you're under the warranty. But we can't find any 2007 models of the 5 series so we went for the Mercedes. And in my opinion, the 2007 E350 looks way better than the 2006 E320. The front is different. More sporty looking and sharper. I really like it. And of course I will post some pictures once we get it. Can't wait!

I'll pick the Benz. Honestly, the 5-series is starting to look a lil' dated compared to the Benz...

Mercedes. It just looks a lot more expesnsive and classy. The BMW looks like somethign that's supposed to compete with Toyota Corolla and co.
The BMW may be more reliable, but at the end of the day the Merc will last for a longer time... I think. And the BMW's interior is really screwed up.
