omg its ****ing heavy 3600+ lbs wtf!!!!!! i like that it has a v8 now but damn they killed it adding that much weight to it

this will be fast in a line but beemars have always been famous for the corners i hope this will be able to handle at least similar to the previous gen

It will handle well. Look at those tires. You can almost hear how sticky they are in the second pic...

This car is very impressive. It combines wonderful performance with stunning looks and a comfy, leather interior. The perfect package. And is that roof carbon fibre or painted black? If it was painted black then it would look better if it was red matching the main colour. I also like the side turning indicators and the rims, they look really nice.

the problem is that its just too damn ugly...

first, the interior, i just have to talk about it because it looks like plastic, well, i think it is plastic, leather plastic it is...anyways, the trim, the "leather" looks all plastic, not good...to more of the outside, now what the heck is that? i mean, the car is not low enough (this is just IMO), the mirrors are so f88ked up, it actually looked better on the concept, the rims are not big enough and it makes the rims feel like that they are 16'', otherwise, its good...then the performance, wow thats awsome! darn, now i only like hte interior, the whole thing is growing on me, but heck, ill never get an M3 with more than 350hp...:p

i'll get it with bigger rims ,, these rims looks a bit small ,, never the less i love how it looks ,, aggressive and clean !

Looks pretty good I reckon, red doesn't suit it that much. Also I'm thinking the roof is photoshopped. The colour may have been just desaturated. On the fifth pic, there's a very very slight tinge of red along the roofline which may have been photoshopped.

Anyway, the rims look fantastic. But it is quite heavy and all, and I piss out more torque. But it does rev very highly though. Not sure if it will kill the RS4 though.

That is very nice, but I think i'd have an RS4. You can use the RS4 as an everyday family car and then use it as an insanely quick performance car. But that does look very beefy and aggressive.

Oh yeah baby! Thats one sweet M3, those tyres, that bonnet and the stubby shotgun exhausts! Oh, i'm actually in love with this car.

Looks pretty nice and the statistics sound promising. No doubt it will cost alot in Australia though.

Hows this going to kill the RS4? Less torque, more weight and only a tiny bit more power.
It looks better than I though it would, but thats like saying a mouse is lighter than an elephant. The interior isn't as nice as the RS4's either. Not to mention the cabin area looks much smaller.

Cool car, but I have a couple complaints. 1 being the side view mirrors look ridiculous. It seems like BMW bypassed the "M3 style" mirrors (a revamped M3 mirror for Civics) and wanted them to use the originals. Otherwise, I do like the look of the car. The wheel/tire combo is very attractive.

Second being the weight. 3600lbs makes it the heaviest M3 yet I believe, but the motor is lighter than the previous generation. Maybe it's the new transmission/rear end? In either case it's heavier than its only brethren with an extra set of doors.

If this car ends up being quicker than the RS4, it can only be due to gearing. I don't expect a whole lot from this car. It seems like BMW finally turned the M3 into what it is, a luxury cruiser with a big engine. No longer have they blurred the line between luxury coupe and race car (as with the E30 M3), they don't even pretend anymore. This is disappointing to say the least.

Not so sure about red though, maybe blue would have been better. It will be interesting to see how it compares the RS4. But overall, it doesn't look half bad.

I wish that it kept the CSL rims though...

it looks extremely beatiful and very nice... but i dont see much of a difference from the last model.... still very nice and i look forward to "remastered" BMW's...

This new M3 may be close to perfection, just have to wait to see what the CTS-V is all about. Otherwise, nothing will touch it.[-X

Found out today that this car is £2,000 cheaper than the Audi RS4! So, is the Audi dominant no more?

I'd take the M3 over the RS4 anyday.

They did the best they could with what was originally a very ugly car, don't like it but the side mirrors do look nice

The rear end looks cheap, the front end looks gaudy...the M3 fender vents look stupid..

I'm not a fan. It tries to hard with the styling, I think. It just doesn't look like an M car. It looks like a 3 series with a body kit.

I'd still rather have a CTS-V.

The M3 has this magical power, once I see it I start liking the base three series styling more.

Just saw something, if you look at the picture of the gearstick you see a power button. Putting it on an M5, that I can understand. Putting it on an M3 that is suposed to be hardcore. Doesn't seem right.

4 doors M3, gosh they were rare, i saw one in the parking lot our BMW used to "live" in and at first i thuoght it was like something someone that would stick loads of M3 badges and like change the whole interior...but one day i heard the sound and i knew that it wasnt a 3 series, its a real M3 4 door! wow that was real cool to know someone owning it...:p

many people have confronted me about the car and have asked me 'how much did the engine swap cost ya?' and i just burst out laughing!! but honestly its the greatest car that i have ever owned!! i once pulled up next to an M3 coupe and the guy laughed at me and branded my car as a replica, and when the lights turned green he just couldnt pull away from me and eventually he told me to pull over and he was just amazed by my car!! i will post some pictures of it as soon as the sun decides to show up!!

its an absolute peach to drive!! its quite easy to drive and its really fast. it doesnt have traction control and that does make a difference when i floor the accelerator around bends or do heel-to-toe downshifting, but apart from that its a beautiful machine. i once got stopped by police for speeding and the policeman wrote in his statement:

'the driver was driving a mechanically propelled vehicle which our undercover patrol cars could not simply match'

i honestly prefer the 4-door M3 to the other 2 BMWs that we own. im not keen on my fathers Alpina because im sooooo used to the M3. i have infact driven the Alpina on a few occasions, and on a motorway journey it just blows my mind to bits but other than that i just love my M3. unfortunatley, we purchased the Alpina just before they upgraded it. we have the version with the 3.3 straight 6 engine rather than the 4.0 V8

I doubt it can destroy RS4. The RS has a lap time of 8 min 9 secs at the Ring. Exactly the same time as M6. I doubt the M3 topping the M6
