I would like to share a story with you, rather, a belief I've had for well, my entire life...
Every summer my family goes to Maine to the beaches there, unfortunately we have to drive through Massachusetts...For everyone from outside of the U.S. Massachusetts has the highest car insurance, by a good 10%.
This is why...a mini van w/ my, my brother, my sister, my sisters boyfriend & his siter, my cosin, and my sisters boyfriends cosin whom was the driver. and with a bunch of crap in the back.
Even if you all aren't from Mass, this proves my theory, you are ALL F*$#ING INSANE!!!! LEARN HOW TO DRIVE!!! My sister and I almost got rear ended, SEVEN times while drivng through that state on the way to Maine...And we were in a Zinc yellow Mustang Convertible going 75mph on the turnpike...
I'd like to have a vote put forth to congress to declare Massachusetts a target-range for the US Air Force...It'd give our boys in the "blue" some practice trying to hit wildly erractic, pyschotic drivers who don't know how to use a turn signal...

for some reason i'm totally lost as to the first post. so many spelling errors, grammatical errors, it seems incoherent. what's going on.

yes i do have to agree i do type fast and messy. even if i feel myself pushing a wad of buttons i dont really go back and check what i did. unless i am typing a report. then i watch what i am doing.
and i am from massachusetts thank you very much. and if you dont beleive my story i really dont care. and trust me we would only hit 80 mph if we were on the fast lane. and we did watch out on how close we were to the car in front of us. we are not crazy to go ABOVE the speed limit. we hit 90 when there was no traffic in site. why the prelude hit 122 we dont no. why we knew he hit 122 is because he told us.
if you stil dont beleive this story be my guest. o have to say myself i dont beleive in everything everyone posts on these boards. so i would not be surpised if you bleive this or not.

I have to defend my state. If you think massachusetts is bad, try driving in Rhode Island. I live on the rhode island border and man these people dont pay attention. I do admit I drive like a ''masshole'', sometimes I use my blinkers, other times I don't. To me it depends on the traffic personality. Some people are twitchy drivers, for instance; bystander drivers that only react and dont think, basically they just try to get out of the way of the speeder, some wait until the driver is 100 feet away and switch lanes (not smart). The problem with twitchy drivers is they do require a speeder to use the blinkers so they know whether or not to feel a small measurement of relief by knowing the course of the other driver. The smart drivers are the ones who know to stay at their speed, and lane (until necessary, of course). That particular driver knows that speeding is wreckless, therefore the one accelerating excessively has to at least know what he/she is doing, meaning the driver is prepared for slower cars and maps out a path around them. But when a slower driver doesnt understand this car language, that's when accidents occur. I always have a "plan of course" when I decide to speed, but my theory is "If all else fails, go inbetween cars if possible, or use the breakdown lane. LoL i only suggest using the breakdown lane if you know your road or highway thoroughly (dead cars on side, accidents, police hiding spots, etc).

There are bad apple drivers everywhere. It just depends on the place and time, whether you are unfortunate enough to run into these drivers. But then again, I drive like a jerk, so i need an excuse to do so... lol

I may have been harsh...just experiences in the past...But as far a Rhode Island goes, it's the size of a football field, (NOT A PITCH!!!), so I think they may be overcompensating for something.

Well, not to blow smoke out of my arse, if you think about it, say if you have a town of 400 people and every person has one car, the chances of you getting a dent would be less because traffic is less dense, less road rage, just simply less interaction. But once you bump up to a population of say five-hundred thousand, the chances of incident would increase dramatically.

Aug 21, 2004, 1:26 PM
yes but 400-500,000 would also mean a dramatic increase in the space of the population, like moving from a small town/village of 400, to a conurbation or city of 500,000, so the increase would not be as dramatic as you are making it sound
however if it were something like from 20 people per sqaure/km to say 50 people per sqaure/km, then that would be a dramatic increase.

i didnt word it correctly, sorry. :D i meant that in a smaller space with more people, it will definately have more of a chance of something happening. perhaps we are called massholes for a reason. lol like posted before, they said boston had a lot of passenger vehicles, so im guessing more vehicles = more chance of something that can happen

yep :) I forgot I made this topic.
wow I cant even read my own story. holy crap. :x well in a nutshell this was really just a fun race. this race was not real race and far from it it was just for kicks and giggles. think about it if we would hit 80 mph in the fast lane is that speeding :?: actually 80 mph is around the average speed in the fast lane. we would not drive at crazy speeds, and we did not shift through lanes every second. or driver knew better. you would have to be there to know what I mean when I say safe, and fun.. >period<!!
to save further confusion I will re-edit my first post and delate it.
but I do have to say that the kid in the prelude was crazy. not only that he really does not know hotw to drive. he shifts gears at 6,500 rpm every time. and this is when he is not racing. talk about killing your engine. he is shifting ad if he was racing ll the time.

iy reminds me of the a Lotus cortina. or the Datsun 510. both cars I like. and both very capable of being speed demons at track. i forget why the cortina is great. but almost every datsun 510 project I see the owner drops a SR20DET engine in it. like this one.
