Anyone else own, or like this car?

Personally, I like the Evo 8 better than the STi. It is a little bit bigger and i like the styling better. But, a year or two ago, we didn't have the Evo. But we had the WRX. That was a revolutionary car. It was moderatly priced, pretty good looking, fast and they handled good. Plus, they were all really comfertable inside, and thats what i look for in a car.

I prefer the EVO 8 too but that's off topic here... besides, I always dreamt of having one of these cars, so I definitely wouldn't mind a WRX either.

Oh ya I wouldn't mind having an EVO8... I just wanted to get away from Japanese cars for a while. The "Rice Burner" label got old quick.

Mitsubishi is owned by Ford, but yeah, I still would think its a Japanese car. Unless you're reffering to Subaru, thats Japanese too, unless I totally missed something?

Mitsubishi is owned by ford? I thought they were independent. I know Chysler must own a little of Mitsubishi, because they have a mitsubishi engine in the SRT-4.

jimkk29

I'm almost sure that Mitsubishi is independant. The engine in the EVO8 is constructed by Mitsubishi.

Capital Lento i really hope you didnt mean what you said that the evo has a better "rally" rep. than the Sti. As far as rally and performance goes the sti pretty much owns the evo in every aspect of performance. faster 0-60, faster 1/4, and pulls more g's. suburu is after all the king of rally.

They'll be pretty independent of selling in the US if they don't get their corporate life and crappy models under control VERY soon.

But, what's Mitsubishi's importance in an STi thread?

More importantly is SpeedMuse's usage of a Princess Bride reference! :D

Id prefer an STi. Subaru's are known for being more endurable than Mitsubishi. If I understand correctly, Mitsubishi has been reputed for having a lot of electronical problems.

Also, I thought the SRT-4 was a dodge neon engine with a mitsubishi lancer turbo?

I think were talking about the Mitsubishi Motor company not all the other stuff they do, eg. electronics (phones, tvs, monitors) and other things. on a side note Mitsubishi electronics have a 200cm rear projection tv with a built in sound system for 20 000 american dollars.

You thought Subaru was an Australian car company because one of their cars is named after a place in Australia?

By that unbelievable logic, think of all the place names we could pin on manufacturers:

Buick Park Avenue
Buick Rainier
Chevrolet Colorado
Chevrolet Malibu
Chevrolet Monte Carlo
Chevrolet Tahoe
Chrysler Sebring
Dodge Durango
GMC Sonoma
GMC Yukon (is GMC's headquarters in the Yukon these days?)
GMC Yukon/Sierra Denali
Hyundai Santa Fe
Hyundai Tiburon
Hyundai Tucson
Kia Sedona
Mercury Monterey
Pontiac Bonneville
Pontiac Montana
Subaru Baja
Suzuki Forenza (Suzuki's true corporate headquarters: Italy)
Suzuki Verona
Toyota Avalon
Toyota Sequoia
Toyota Tacoma

Lovely job.

Eh, people make mistakes OBX. No need to be rude about it.

No I just looked, it's japanese. But that's okay, OBX's witticism is far from amusing and pretty instigating. He needs to learn social coping skills. Of course he's going to refute being socially inept or offensive, because he most likely suffers from a bruised ego problem. You can tell by his offensive behavior from a first meeting. Feels like he has to prove his knowlege in a condescending way.

Tell me something, OBX: Do your parents talk down to you often? Insinuate that you are less intelligent? Do your friends make fun of you for being wrong sometimes? Do you dwell on your mistakes? Have you contemplated suicide? Or did your mother not give you enough hugs as a child? Maybe you are hard on yourself when you make mistakes, or have high, unrealistic self expectations that you always seem to fall short on. It doesn't matter what you say, you can refute my questions or answer them however you want. It's not the answer you give, it's how you answer that tells who you are underneath.

People think they hide their secrets well, but they wear it all on their shoulders.

Sometimes people with an inferiority complex have low self esteem, immature social skills, and tend to be offensive. Try to be a little more nice, you'll get better responses from people, my friend.

Australia really should get the Toyota Matrix.

Avalon does nicely here with the elderly crowd, though they typically buy from a premium brand so it doesn't do very nicely. I've only ever seen one in full-spec.

 he should have spent his hard-earned cash elsewhere.

Its all toyota's fault for launching the Model with a bunch of retirees. Now every avalon on the road reminds me of some old pensioner with a walking stick and drive with thier heads 2cm higher than the steering wheel

But i have to say, the Avlon is a perfect taxi. Its reliable (since its a Toyota), its quite big and being a FWD there's no axle below the boot so BIG BOOT.
