My sister met this guy named Normand, and he owns a custom car shop. he has a Corvette (1991 with a lotus engine). 600hp to the wheels. Now, personally I don’t like Fords, at all, but I have to admit that the pics of that Ford Probe are nice, that would be the only Ford I would ever buy if I was to ever buy one. But going with the topic of this forum, I’ve gotten up to abut 140km/h. Now I know that its not very fast :( but take into consideration as to what I was driving, a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier, had I gone any faster in that thing I would have blown it up. 8-[

I'm under-age but I've driven my friend's brother's 80s Subaru Legacy at maybe 35mph. It was a small parking lot :D . And I almost got caught, so I won't be doing things like that anytime soon... at least not for a few weeks until the Civic I'll be driving comes back from my sister's place in Boston. That's not real, a police car has to be marked in some identifiable way. And, no offense to Attaus, TEXAS CAN SUCK MY RUBBER...(reffering to tire marks ppl)...
Yea, I'm actually thinking about getting a Tiburon and putting a body kit on it and some nice rims with a good system, the thing is tho, I dont know how to do that stuff lol. I need to learn how to fix cars, maybe i really should take that auto class I would love to get a Skyline, man oh man would that be fun to drive! You coppers would never catch me!
Good choice, Tiburons are pretty quick cars. Apexi made a really fast turbocharged four cylinder veresion. And because there prices are really low, you can figure in some pretty high-end mods, like supercharging. Think of companies like Eaton and Jackson Racing.
Though I'd steer clear of the whole, "bodykit, rims, and sound system", or no offense, you'll be labelled as a chick who's either driving her bf's car, or doesn't know squat about cars and tried to look like she did. Trust me, I go to a school with 'em by the dozen.
But if you really do go through with those mods over performance mods. SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY on really quality stuff, not the stuff you saw on someone else's car, unless that person has trophies to back it up. :P
I don't mean to offend ya' or burst your bubble on this stuff, but it's stupid when someone wants to do cosmetic modifications to their car without the time and effort AND quality supplies factored into it.
Lastly, bodykit installation, any good auto shop could put it on, don't do it yourself. Rims should come next so you can cut back the kit if you need to allow extra room for the wheels. Finally, Alpine, Clarion, Audiobahn, Blaupunkt are all really good companies for stereo equipment, Best Buy can hook you up with the installation, or another shop who won't charge you an arm and leg.

That's not real, a police car has to be marked in some identifiable way.
Actually, that is a real pic, just not a real police car. They got fined for impersinating a police car for like $2,000 dollars or some odd number while taking the pic. (I did some research on it)
In the Hills of Lakeway, next to my neighboorhood, we used to call them "Rent-A-Cops" because they can't do squat, they just ask you not to do what it is that you're doing wrong (nicely  ).

I know it's real, anyways, take a look at the 2004 Gumball in Miami, the German M5 with allll the German police stuff, exterior matches perfect...
sKyGuRl17
Sep 10, 2004, 3:20 AM
Hey man, no offence taken. One of the reasons I joined the site is to learn and get feedback. Tiburon’s are nice cars without having much or anything at all done to the exterior, but there are some body kits that I like and to me it brings the car more together and gives it something different. Ya know? I like to be different! 8) So even though I might not put a body kit on, I love my music and I love it loud and you cant be driving a nice car and have music blaring out of not so good quality speakers, so I know that I will be putting in a system. And I think I will spend the extra money with anything that I do to the car, I plan on keeping it for a long while. But thanks for the advice man, its much appreciated! And yea, with the whole "Coppers" thing, I really have no idea why I called them that, but I did lol. I usually call them "the popes".
Ghalos
Sep 10, 2004, 4:43 AM
The POPES!!!?? hahaha...I think you meant "po-po" unless you wanna refer to them as religious figures, hehehe.
And yeah, I understand the whole individuality thing. I personally prefer for my favorite sound to be either loud, crystal clear Alpine amplified beats. :D Or, if I had them, chain driven under hood stuff instead of belt driven. It's soooooooo....blahbhalbhbal...*drools*

so you are telling me that this car is not a police car?
http://www.whifbitz.co.uk/images/carsforsale/subaru/94wrxblack.jpg
just because it does not have POLICE on the side or lights on the top, Police cars can take many forms, this would have blue lights in the grill, and thats it.
Also, that M5 from the Gumball, was a genuine car from the Autobahn Polizei, he (Roy) bought it and put the lights back on it :P and has now raced in 2 Gumaball events, and this year it was very funny with what he was doing :D  8)

Even though that isnt a police car, cop cars dont have to be marked, theyre called unmarked police and they are usually the same cars in white (here in aus neway)

Ok, true, on the way home, a cop doesn't need to be marked. But in NY STATE, that's what I mean btw, should've clarified it prolly. Anyways, in NY state there has to be some marking, be it a badge on the bumper or what, but there's got to be some markings. 8)

The faster you go you worry less about it and things ahead of you on the road. But before you hit that point, you're half thinking about your license and more importantly, only half on the stuff in front of you. There literally comes a point when you say, "eh, this'll make a kickass story". I mean, how many of us can say we've gone 100, 130, 150, 180? My point exactly. *nods* *nods some more* *neck starts to hurt*

As for the Cavalier, it'll go about 120 mph. My sis has an '03.
You speak like you know.. :-k You ever take it for a spin?
Just to mention a few things, most of the cars mentioned wouldn't have the tires rated to go that fast.. they would start to overheat and shread in most cases. The Z I was in had ZR rated Kuhmos. (Thats 160+ mph I think) Just curious..
Ghalos
Sep 18, 2004, 4:33 PM
Yeah, the second letter is the speed rating, Y if I"m not mistaken is 185 +, and M is 150 +.
And no, I've not taken the Cavalier up to 120, but I've done 90 on the Mass. Turnpike on my way to Maine, and it was rock solid. Still had some pep left. So I'd ballpark it at 120. Hell, if a Civic 2 door can do 128mph. Then yeah, I think that's a safe bet. 8)

You guys need to stop labeling people. Its immature, but seeing that you're 14...well just get off the incomprehensive labeling. I can be a jerk, but im a jerk to people individually for certain characteristics. I dont make fun of people for what they do in their private life.
Did you know that they have conducted many neuro psycho tests how untintelligent swear words, and other stereotypical generalizing words, relate to unstimulated that persons brain is? They did an MRI experiment that shows which parts of the brain is in use when certain words are being thought of; swear words like '***','f*ck', etc etc use the least amount of brainpower to say such idiotic statements.

Actions define the person, as such, if I don't personally like streetracing, and Mr. Y does. Then don't be surprised if I think Mr. Y is someone who has a misdirected view of what being a "rebel" is. A rebel is not someone who drives at illegal speeds on pubic highways and slams into minivans at 125mph. I can completely see how they'd get their adrenaline pumping and it'd be fun. But when someone tries to say streetracing takes skill, don't be surprised if I give them a lesson from the pages of Stirling Moss' life, Michael Schumacher, Mario Andretti, Alan Prost, and the other real drivers who have real skill.
But in reference to what ckg690 said, I just thought it was funny. :P
