I'd like that video sent to the local sheriff's department to keep stupid people who do that speed on public roads in lame ass Civic's.

Also, I just called my coworker and asked if her dealer would take her governor off because she actually TRIED to get them to do it.

Note I said, "Tried", it voids your warranty. But go ahead and grenade your hamster powered motor and try and get it rebuilt...Population control, a lovely thing.
Now, time for the straw man comment of the day:
"My friend's dog is named Brodie".

112 In my 95 Camery.

I had a 88' 280 ZX but the engine more or less died and I sold it to my friend, who is a Z collector, since the interior was all original and the car ran perfect (except for the engine of course) he put a V12 corvette engine in it and now he races it with his other Z, which is a 240 turbo.

I know I shouldent have sold it, but my parents hated that car, had no side impact beams, airbags, or other safety features beyond seatbelts...so I was kinda forced to sell it.

and thats my story.

Well let me start by saying .with the exception of a few people in this thread I cant believe the BS I have read. Some of the speeds and the cars you are in are obsurd. I know im A new member but this is the most BS I have read in sometime.

As far as what I have gone for top speed....My 1995 Taurus SHO spedo was buried at 140 mph . (notice I didnt say thats how fast I was going) This was when the car was stock 220hp. I have since added new cams, injectors, 80mm MAF, zex nitrous kit, new underdrive pulleys , and other mods.

This time around I will get it on a dyno. I am expecting around 300 or so hp at the front wheels. I have spare motor and I am in the process of getting a supercharger.when completed I can expect 400-420 at the front wheels.

I also have a gocart I built with a propane powered pulse jet(between 75-100lbs of thrust) . I have yet to get it out to see what it will do. In test runs I have pissed off the neighbors and had the cops here.

one more thing. Im not a kid (30) and build cars on a regular basis. I have completed several kitcars including a F355 and several older cars. I am currently building a 3 wheeler called the Tri-Magnum powered by a older Hurricane 1100 Motor.

Ah jet power, but is that really a good idea for a... I would use the word go-cart loosly.

Im assuming your using a valveless set-up or a 180 bend (if not that is quite impressive), correct me if I am wrong, but either way that particullar power plant type is rather noisy, and some what inefficent.

Not to mention unstable under certain "conditions".
You seem to know what your doing, but if I were your neighbor and my house was near a propane burning, single stage compression jet that bears similarity to the v-2 rockets of WWII, I would voice considerable concern.

Id love to see it in action though. :P

hahaha yeah the cart (old manco frame) currently has a lockwood I built on it. I have built a few in the past. I have also built a few other valveless and valved jets. I know a little bit about a few things

They can be inefficent but it depends on several factors, temp, Material, Fuel, Etc. As far as noise goes. You can hear mine very clear from a few blocks away.

While you're doing 140 tonight, I would appreciate it if you could turn the camera in your face (while traveling 140 mind you) and sing the opening bars of Daisy. Very Kubrick, very cool, very authenticating. A view of your credit card wouldn't hurt anything either.

On a serious note, thanks for risking your license, your car, your life and the lives of others to calm TTB and to entertain the rest of us. Such selflessness hasn't been exercised since the Battle of Crecy, when the great Edward III marched his army of 10,000 men across the French countryside to that humble village to defeat Philip VI's much larger force.

here in australia there is a road called the stuart highway, this road goes from Darwin (the very top of australia) to adelaide (the very bottom). it's right down the centre of the country and the cool thing about this road is that it's unlimeted speed limit (except when within 5 minutes from a town, there are almost none out there) and this road is dead straight;) . i didn't have a car when we lived in alice springs (centre australia) and my oldman only had a hilux ute, now we have a Ford XR6 TURBO and live in canberra. would love to go back and give the highway a go:)

I just watched a video of a guy on a motorcycle that went 200km/h (120mph) and a maximum of 250km/h (156mph) through the highway in Paris. It took him 11:04 in the middle of the day with a good amount of traffic. It was incredible.. so dangerous, but so cool. He was weaving in and around cars while going atleast 100mph. Its hella dangerous, but that makes it look even more cool. But still.. 11 minutes around Paris, isn't that insane?
