The Fastest I have ever gone was on a Road trip in MN. Highway 94 to Wisonsin. I was driving my Audi Rs6 and up a head there was plenty of open road. So like any teenager I just want to go fast. By the time i crossed the hudson Bridge I was at 160 mph. In the Audi it felt like nothing because the aero dynamics on the car is unreal.

I have never been above 90mph. It was in a hatchback, I forgot which kind. My dad however once did 140mph back in Iraq. It was in a Toyota Super. Not the Supra. It's a very old family saloon. I don't think that other people will have heard of it.

Alright then, excuse the sarcasm. It just seemed like you thought I was lying. If not, sorry for my response. Trust me, I would have loved to have pushed it higher, but going that fast in someone else's car is nerve racking enough.

Maybe this is a lot more common in american cars but i've driven a lot of european cars (mostly boring ones, but thats beside the point) and none of them had a top gear that was high enough for acceleration to stop. My car tops out at about 130 in top gear (5th), if I had it in 4th, it would be in the red well before then

On a local stretch of highway. Perfectly straight and flat all the the way north until you reach the Canadian border. My car doesn't really need a whole lotta road to reach 150+. The Air Base I'm at has two gates, on the same stretch of highway, exactly a mile apart. I can pull out of one gate, (doing about 35ish as you pull into the merging lane) and easily hit 150 before I reach the next gate. All my car has is a cai. 4th gear in my car is roughly 122, 5th is roughly 151, 6th I don't know, but I've been to 155 in my car, and it WILL NOT reach that speed in 5th. Supposedly, 350Z's are governed at 156 or 158. I don't know though, because one of my friends had an '04 w/ the same options as mine and had a passenger take a pic of his digital dash-top readout showing 160mph. I may have to try it some time.

I have a hard time believing that a salesman would let 2 people take off in a Pantera alone. I am canadian, so it was 180 KPH, it wans't a max speed contest, only accelaration on a big boulevard. My lotus is a in-line 4 turbo, 1988. My friend is the dealer, that's whywe took it. For the corvette, don't forget the Pantera as over 400 HP and is way lighter. It has electronic injection instead of carburators.

And yes I have a digital speedo on my bike, designed to be accurate up to 62mph (more or less).

70km/h is damn fast for a bike. I remember going about 50km/h - at least it seemed around there - on my mountain bike down this big huge hill, all grass, unpaved, and it felt like hitting the NOS button in Need For Speed. It was FAST, so 70km/h seems a bit fishy unless you have a special bike that is stable at that speed.
