i was clocked running 23 mph in a 100 m dash this track season
i got up to 115 in my crappy civic with a pvc pipe air intake haha
i got up to 125 in my dad's altima on the way to cedar point after prom this year, but i didn't stay there too long, the cruise control only worked up to 90 and i'm lazy.
got up to 90 in a jeep wrangler with a soft top, blown speakers, 44" mudding tires and a 4" lift, that was fun
19 mph earlier today in my pontoon boat
61 on a speedboat
blah blah blah

What gearing in the rear are you running ? Hell forget the gearing I want a video of that one. there is no way you had that boat going 150 . Add all the brakes, motors, suspension anything. No way.
I had a 74 and 77 cutlass. even with a 350hp olds rocket i would not hit 150 on a good day. Not because of lack of power but aerodynamics alone

Drive safe though man! There is a risk going 25mph. The worst spot for a bike is an intersection not the highway. 100 on a bike seems like a lot but really the time I did 105 it was a quick burst and then release of the throttle. Not like most people cruise at that speed.

I wish I had a video of me sliding across the track on my back! lol... If you wear the right equipment you're almost as safe as in a car, unless you get hit head-on. Then again I live in Kansas now. The closest thing out here to a traffic jam is the check out line at Wal Mart! There's a lot of nice flat open road out here...

One time after a gaming lan (yes I'm a nerd) I touched on 110mph / 175kph on the Limerick (Ireland) bypass in my VW Polo Saloon. It was about 4:30 in the morning so I had the road to myself and to be honest I don't think It'll even go as fast again. A 1.4 lt NA car with suspension made from ground up rubber balls is not really able to run a 5500rpm for an extended period of time (i swear the undulating motion of the car didn't make me bottle it) especially since it normally runs at about 3000rpm when I driving normally.http://www.parkers.co.uk/imagecache/file/300/archive/VW/Polo%20Saloon%20%2800-02%29/polo_saloon.jpg

I'm starting to appreciate the autobahn.
165+ MPH in a 1989 911 bought by a friend of mine 2 weeks ago for $1500.
The car really needs a lot of work done, has a few minor mods (otherwise it's be stuck at 155) and we did a test ride to see how the engine is amongst others.
We had it revving at 6500rpm for about 25 minutes before we decided to throttle down and teh engine seems to be fine.
Now the suspension, that realy needs work done.
The shocks feel like they're non-existent.
Brakes make a lot of noise but the brake pads were new and the discs look fine
Have to take apart the suspension to check for play.
Furthermore, the tacho seems to be faulty.
It doesn't come up at all until 50kph (30mph) but from then seems to be rather accurate.

I'm not too sure about that but I had a friend tell me that his friend had a Suburban who took it up to like 110 before the governor kicked in. The speedometer reads up to 100 so I'm not too sure if it will even go past that before shutting off.

Now today coming home (it was about 104 degrees outside), I didn't really set a top speed (I was on the freeway during the traffic hours) but I did set a personal record for RPMs in 1st gear. I put the pedal pretty far down and I got the Suburban to go 4,000 RPM in 1st gear! And I believe that was around 25 - 30 MPH too. But I basically did it because at the intersection, people usually have the balls to cross at slow speed when there's a yellow light at the turn lane on the opposite side when they know damn well that it will turn red like a second later and it would be my turn to cross.

Hey, this is a bit off-topic, but did you know that speed cameras can't flash you when you're going over 170 miles per hour....
That was true a while ago when shutter speed on the camera and the lag of the shutter mechanism made the cam 'register' the car too late to actually make an image that would allow to 'read'/decipher the registration plate.
That has been solved a while back though.
Some old cameras can still be fooled that way but I wouldnt advise speeds under 260kph just to make sure. When the camera inside the setup has been replaced you're still in for trouble though.
Basically I wouldn't advise to try this at all.
Ravenous
Jun 23, 2006, 6:57 AM
Depends on the angle of the camera, too. Either Fifth Gear or Top Gear tried it out using the UK camera, which points up the road, snapping the car from behind, and the faster you go the further you get from the lens, but you still get caught. In Australia it shoots from head on, so if you go fast enough, it is possible to get your front plate out of the camera's field of view before it snaps. Don't know what the speed is exactly, but it's possible.
That also causes problems with motorbikes. Since bikes don't have regos on the front they're immune to speed cameras. A few months ago the newspaper even gave a list of the top 10 worst offenders, showing the pics of bikers who'd done upwards of 200kph through the camera and weren't able to be caught. Of course, all they did was create a freakin Hall of Fame :D

What mods were in the RX7? Or was it stock?
1st gen, 2nd gen or 3rd gen? (What series would be interesting as well) and did it use the stock engine or was the engine swapped?

260kmph in an RX-7 sounds fun, Still Way's 9 second (on street tires!) 650hp FD does that in a matter of seconds on the street outside their garage.

only downside is the 240kph in a stock RX7. Then again, 240 kph is rather neat already when already having the next corner in view.

The car is a lot more stable in cornes (2nd gen that is) when eliminating the automatic upright toe adjustment.
This toe adjustment was mazdas way of trying to counter understeer in slower corners.
Unfortunately it generates oversteer in high speed drifting, and even more, impredictable movement of the rear end of the car when hitting a mellow bump in a high speed corner.
After eliminating it the car works better for me.

Yellow FD with Porsche headights and round tail lights... I know I've seen something like it before, I just don't remember anything else but the car, don't even remember where I saw it...

I know RE-Amemiya has quite a few Porsche lighted FD on their site.

It is indeed an RE AMEMIYA bodykit the car uses.
It has the most thouroughly tuned 13Bt engine with something in the general area of 800HP
I mainly remember the engine bay and the sound.
Saw it once on Sendai drag strip.
Once again, it did not leave the starting grid :(
On it's home course it seems to be fabulously fast on the 1/4 mile though.
oh, btw, about $50 and an hour of tinkering sees you rid of the upright toe adjustment. It really improves car handling a lot.

Sheesh, 800hp is a sh*t storm of 13Bt!
I just know I've seen something like it. Sendai sounds familiar too as I remember High Performance Imports (DVD series) has filmed there.
Loads of 9 second 32 GT-R's on street tires.
Still Way's all-out circuit FD makes a reliable 700hp, very quick around T.I. Circuit.

Yeah, I remembe a guy from high performance imports being there.
He talked a lot... :|
700 HP is a lot of power for a 1.3 ltr 2 rotor engine

You've seen the DVD? Edit: Wait, you were there!?
He would have had an Australian accent. I might have to watch it again.
Random DVD anecdote: Hi Octane 5 featured a test/review/race up Mt. Ruapehu in New Zealand. I've been skiing there, travelling up tis mountain round in the slimy, narrow conditions absolutely sh*t scared in a Lancer while these two nutters are fanging a 350Z and an RX8 up it.
Damn that road is unbelievably scary. lol

Oh, sh*t. That's cool.
From memory there were a lot of old school Skylines too, even had their own class.
So many insane cars at that event, so you were even there for the whole oil spill from the RB26 Laurel? (or whatever it was, maybe a Chaser) I thought that was pretty cool how the whole group of racers got together to clean up the track. You don't see that kind of enthusiasm and sportsmanship anywhere else.
Also that insane MkII Supra. Wow!
Edit: What was it you were doing in Sendai?

I drove the Murano at 100 mph yesterday on my way home from a tournament in Chicago. That was the first time the car hits 100. I haven't tried to drive the Z that fast yet. The highest speed I drove it was 85. hehe!

Hi All,
The fastest I've been was quiet amusing, it was 4:30-5am 4 summers back when my missues was late for work (from London to Notts) and some where between jnt 16-19 she hit 135mph, funny thing was that around jnt 18 she flew passed a cop volvo T5, LUCKY for us he left us (no other cars on the road). I can tell you I sh*t bricks for the next 30 minutes!
Cheers
Carl

I was there opening business opportunities for my uncle.
In other words I was selling trees in japan :D
The skylines were neat but I was most impressed by the 8.something second MR2. Those things are really tiny but make an awefull lot of noise.
Also liked the 2JZ powered MZ21 (1989 Soarer) even though it was beaten quite badly in the end.

Haha, sweet, I was going to say the same thing about the blue MR2.
It's lightning!
You know I think I heard the yellow FD you were talking about (didn't see it), when they were checking out one of the RB26 DR30 Skylines I heard the unmistakable buzz and braps. Then again, there were a few Rotors there.
How 'bout the 10.54 red FC? Pretty damn quick! Then there was the yellow tubbed Cosmo.
That RB26 260Z was mighty quick too and spat one ginormous flame.
And another thing, you know how I was talking of the 650hp Still Way red FD? I only realised for the first time a few hours ago that it was there too, it was lined up with the silver RB26 MkII Chaser on the run that spilt oil all over the track. Didn't see the time tough, it's red with gold and silver lipped wheels.
How loud was the yellow VG30DE Z32!?
...It's weird I'm talking from a DVD, but you were there in person. By the way, did you check out the Sendai drift action? Apparently the drift track is only just behind the strip's parking lot or something.
