Hello Mate ( ...i do hope this is the propoer "down-under" expression :) ) ...

And yes ... it is actually as if i am looking at an exact photo of my car ... Even the colour scheme is identical :) ... 1994 Maserati Spyder Biturbo 2.0 L , 24 V, Gandini facelift ( one of the last production bunch ...there were not too many made after all ... but still i love it ;) ..)

Now ... indeed the speed noted was 235 kph ( speedo of course ) .. unless i was too terrified to see properly .. i could not hear anything anyway ... it was like flying the space-shuttle ... Nice , elegantly understated car the little Spy .. but no highway express for sure ...

Anyway , promise to post a photo next time i decide to take a chance with my life and if i manage to find a stuntman friend who will shoot it :D
Cheers

The car started to shake at about 120 because it's a rear engine and the front was really light. I don't want to kill myself so I backed off. Besides I don't think it could've gone that much faster anyways.

Experiencing at high speed really makes you appreciate how good the pros really are. I know 125 wasn't that fast but it sure felt pretty fast to me.

There's no speed limit for US Army vehicles. If you're in their way, and you don't move over, they can ram you. If you approach them in any semi-hostile way, they can shoot you.

As for non-military vehicles, dunno about that.

250kmp/h is very impressive, I seem to get pretty nervous and shaky around 140-160, passenger of course, but then again, this is residential area, narrow streets with cars parked everywhere.

I think last time I posted in here was after a trip to Brisbane in an APS Phase 3 XR6T Ute, damn that thing pulls hard. That thing just storms from 100 to 160 so quickly and with such ease.

Since then it's been outdone by an S13, 360rwkW, narrow parked-car-laden street, semi-slicks, late night darkness, rumbling SR.

She's had the entire exhaust system upgraded and a stage 3 turbo installed. Did it take long? Well, not really. Until then my fastest was 220 in my car, which was standing at the top of fourth gear to do it and took forever to get there. The Falcon breezed by in comparison, and probably could have gone up to at least 280. So much torque, and yet only a six. I was amazed.

You're definetly not alone there. My mum talks, eats, well she does everything when she drives.

The good thing about highways is that they are wide.
Imagine the same interior sitiation in the following external situation though:

small road, about 5' wide with a gutter on the passenger side of the car and a 1' high concrete regularly interrupted seperation between the road and the river beyond it.

During a fairly uninteresting monologue about a greenhouse I regularly feel how the tires cross the gutter.

In regard to the topic, any speed is to fast for my convenience

Nope. This is my old man we're talking about. He did a lot of the work himself and doesn't seem too interested in taking it to the drags or dynoing it. For him it's just the satisfaction of building something with his own hands. To be honest, I think he's worried that if he takes it to the dyno it'll pop up figures less than he estimated.

But if I can convince him to do it, I'll take the camera.

Old men and XR6T's...

The APS Phase 3 owner is my parents good friend and happens to live about 2 mins walk from here. He's a little kid at heart but between 50-60 (I'm not exactly sure).

He's a cool guy, he has a 380kW (@ fly) XR6T Ute, a black/red SP250 Dart, orders remote control aeroplanes over the internet, flys 'em, usually kills one then orders another, better one.

What a legend. He's also got this trick radar detector from the US. It's protected from Police anit-radar systems. lol

+1 for illegal radar. Only thing is it'll beep whenever you pass petrol stations for some wierd reason. It's handy when your car accelerates so quick, he can mash the throttle on the highway with the ease of knowing there's no cops near by.

Hey who cares about the weight? It's a cruiser. It has torque. It's fast as all hell compared to 80% of the cars on Australian roads and it has back room for five girls. I know, because I've seen it done in a Monaro.

BTW Saying it's a cruiser is the perfect excuse to have a slow car or an auto. As long as it looks good, nobody argues.

Just for on topics sakes, a friend of mine once hit 240kph in a stock SS ute (VY). Or so he claims. You reckon there's truth to that?

Possible, yeah, but it would have taken an insane amount of time at 200kmp/h + to finally reach the 240.

Surely he couldn't go that long while breaking the law, avoiding present danger and having the balls to do so at over 200. I'd say it probably hit a brick wall of speed at 220-225 then crawled to 240 after a long while.

Power - 328hp

Torque - 345 ft-lbs @ 2000rpm

The XR6T my parent's friend's XR6T has roughly 500hp at the fly and a sh*t load of torque (yeah, not sure of it's torque figure)

His is APS Phase III tuned, APS do good work.

Thanks Parko...as for the Falcon's output,  :shock:
Those APS staged kits look pretty gnarly too...must cost a lotta coin to get those kits bolted on. Most impressive !

Yeah, the wheels are pretty lame. The BVA models had nicer wheels in my opinion.

Yep, RWD.

No worries, and it's not that expensive really, considering the gains. Especially when you think that's Porsche's PCCB option cost 18k AUD.

I think he's spent about 18k AUD on it, Phase II kit fitted etc. and a brake upgrade afterwards.
