Might be a repost, but im in kind of a rush so i didnt really have much time to check......
Yo guys, alright so a friend of mine is really interested in purchasing one of the 4.8i X5's, and i kinda wanted your opinions in the car for however long its been out so far. it seems like a fairly priced car at like 58k USD, and looks good...
is there any news of a faster X5 in the future? like say maybe the V10 they're using in the M5's and M6's. idk. just wondering, would really like some input in this, i mean after all, this new X5 sure as hell looks better than the old IMO.
thanks in advance

If he has a family, look at a Lexus RX or Volvo XC
If he is single the X5 is a great car that suffers from being a drivers car too much. Cramped back seats that are like sitting on a wooden bench. and so so hatch design.

I dont think they would put the 500hp V10 in the X5...I think they will put it in the 7-series before the X5...

There aen't any offcial news about a V10 powered X5, but there was spotted a heavly disguised prototype once. From the engine sound it sounded to be using a V10... but that was like, last summer or something, so they might have cancelled it since nobody has heard more about it by now.

yeahh, he's kinda set on the X5 for now, so its just the 4.8i for now. true, it sits like a wooden bench in the back, which is really annoying at times, but other than that, is there anything like really really great about that car? ive heard so much of it...
btw i didnt really clarify the model, its the newest one that just came out in case someone didnt really know
2007 not 2006 i guess

Newest one? Forget about it, its even more tight because of the 7 seat configuration.
Like I said before, the thing with the X5 is it's too much a driver's car, brakes are too harsh, handling is too rough you feel all the bumps easily in that car.
Besides the new X5 is ugly, inside and out; tell him to get something more sensible!
