And...IMO the Supra and Skyline are pretty much on par with each other. Both have their strengths and weaknesses.
Well said, they are both awesome cars. :)
Every car has its strengths and weaknesses :!:
But i will pick the Skyline because it is better overall then the supra

It's not the best, it's not the worst, but if I have to choose one of all cars in the world, the skyline would be my choise for sure.
And, I would know there are some better cars out there, but I would (will I hope ;)) be happy with my r34 baby :).

[quote="jimkk29"]Alfa Romeo & Fiat?? FIAT?? :? :? :? :?
You think that any Alfa or Fiat is better than the Skyline??? :? :?
Wow... and I thought I had seen and heard everything in this world!!
I am really surprised that a "guru" like you is tellign such shits.
Nissan is NOTHING over the history of Alfa Romeo.
Have you ever heard of Alfa Romeo Montreal ??
Go look backward at the glorious history of alfa romeo cars and
at the design and engine perfections.
Have you never heard of Alfa Romeo GTA Veloce designed by Bertone?
Have you ever seen a 1600 cc engine with 160HP in '70 years ?
Nissan skyline has a crap of design, it is awful.
Reading the postings here looks like watchign the crap of "fast and furious".
Come back to real world and real cars.
Plus I don't even want consider a car with a modified engine of 1000HP,
this is only a crap for stupid thing.
a modified car of 1000HP HAS NOTHING TO DO with the original Nissan car.
I have a FIAT 127 from 1978, perfectly working car, I Can modify it too
to have 1000HP....
I don't think noone here is driving a 1000HP car on the street.
I am talking of real cars that you can drive everyday.
Nissan skyline is a very wonderful car but it is not the best definitely,
myself I think BMW M3 is better.
jimkk29

Ok, first off, try to get your quote working correctly...
Then read the following.
Do you even know that Nissan has 70 full years of History?
And anyway, who said that I don't respect the history of Alfa Romeo? Perhaps you should read my post(s) more carefully. i just stated that the Skyline is overall a better car, which is true...
And you talked about the design? Who cares about the design if the car is not working and you have to fix it every 100 km?
I mean ok they are beautiful cars, but...
But I agree with you, (old) Alfas etc are definitely awesome, if all electrical systems are working (difficult), all LEDs are working (rare), and if you don't need to punch your dashboard in order to have the speedometer/tachometer working (even rarer).
Did I ever say I would drive a 1000HP car?
I would probably prefer the M3 as well. And your Fiat is really cool.
But when you come out of the blue and attack me, at least do it right... (and I don't mean the mistake you made in the quote)
And most of all, don't say I said things I never said.

The main reason you can get your Hondas and Nissans so fast is by using Nitrous (a.k.a NOS) If you were to race a 2004 Honda Civic against a 67 Shelby Mustang GT500, the Mustang would clearly win---without Nitrous. http://www.rapidcars.com/images/gt500.jpg

I feel it doesn't matter what country has the best car. If I had my way I'd buy an F-15 and beat all yalls in a 1/4 mile race and around the track race. Now getting to the point...Yes the Skyline is ONE of THE BEST CARS in the WORLD. Yes...It is fast as lightning. I have seen a 1997 R33 GT-R go down a 1/4 mile track at 171.48 miles an hour clocking a 8.66 second 1/4 mile time with 1,188hp and NO Nitrous or NOS to ALL 4 wheels on the pavement. Yes...I have seen a Veilside Supra EAT UP a Ferrari F50 on a CIRCLE TRACK...The Supra was slow in the beginning, But IT DID KEEP UP WITH THE FERRARI and on a straight away while the F50 was pushing a little over 200mph, the Supra pushed harder and passed it doing 226mph before following the F50 back around the bend...and there is living VIDEO proof of this too. I've seen so many cars built in many countries...even cars you would not even think of that has no guts at all, after tuning they become "little monsters". Now I'm just stating what I have learned in my past as an ex-tuner, but come on guys...no one has THE BEST CAR IN THE WORLD...and until there is a car that'll go 300 + mph down a 1/4 mile track clocking in a time of 5 seconds flat or a car that can beat a Ferrari Enzo or a Lamborghini Murcielago hands down...this convo means nothing but enthusiasts being opinionated about what country has THE BEST CAR IN THE WORLD.
Thank You

Hey Thlam Yeah I am so wrong when it comes to times on the M3! IF you dont like it you can go complain to car and driver and Roand and track! The 0-60 info you got on the M3 was most likely the E36 model. That model has 321 HP and 258 Lb-ft of torque.
HOwever I am talking about the newer m3's the E46 model It has 343 Hp and 262 Lb ft of torque. It is faster. Plus it is naturally aspirated. Here are the times that road and track had it.
0-60 4.7sec
0-100 11.6 sec
1/4 13.3
Lets see the skyline naturally aspirated do that!
And that little website, wow not very impressive. Those guys put hundreds of thousands of dollars in their cars to makeit go in a straight line. That wont help you out at some of GErmanys toughest tracks!
AND THE JGTC!!!! HAHAHAH MAN THOSE GUYS SUCK AT DRIVING COMPARED TO THE EUROPEANS! IF they are so confident in the skyline that it is the king why doesnt it take on germany head on!
No they have to race only in Japan. They are much afraid of what will happen to the skyline when it faces companies like ferrari porsche audi bmw and so on.
Talking about japan defeating Germany is laughable! HAHAHAHA
Can you recall Nissan releasing a version of the R34 GT-R called the Nur V-Spec Edition? It was the last and final version of the GT-R (for the R34 of course) and they named it after a track in Germany...what was the track/race called????...The Nurburging Circuit or something like that?
Back in the early '90's when Nissan released the R32 and R33 GT-R's to the world. They've become a so-called "feared" automobile when introduced to the Nurburging Circuit (I think it's spelled like that) and the car itself, not the driver made a grand entrance to racing. The Skyline won practically ALL of the races it had there at the Circuit. If you want to peep see what the Skyline GT-R is capable of, you can check out http://www.exvitermini.com for more info or http://www.skylinegtr.com also for more info.

No, no, Thank You KeleKe. Once for getting us back on track and a secodn time for tellin' it straight. I know someone is going to be whiney about the super tuned Skyline and Supra beating a stock Ferarri, but has been the point of super tuners. Beating exotic, insanely priced cars for less than the exotic would cost stock. I'm gonna catch some flak for going to this movie for an example, but the scene with the Ferarri and the fully hopped up Supra in The Fast and the Furious? That is one of the main appeal of these 'ricers'. Going REALLY fast for not nearly as much as the Ferarris and Porsches cost. Then for me, it's the whole cutsomization aspect, making a car truely your own. Anyway, keep on rockin' KeleKe and welcome to these forums

Okay here come your flack:-)....Fast and Furious is a GREAT reason why so many people HATE ricers....stupid wings, ugly body kits and stickers galore. You can tune a car for big power and not make it look like a toy. The better tuners go that route. Bottom line to me is no matter how fast you may tune a car to be, it STILL is the same car....So if you have a 11 sec Civic, so what, it is still a Civic....my opinion ofcourse. :-)

Wow, okay, I mentioned the Supra and the Skyline, NOTHING what-so-ever about a Civic. A'll bring up this point again. Why do people hate what other people do to their cars? Is it offending your ethnicity? Is it taking money away from you or hurting you? NO!!!! It's 'offending' your "supierior" taste. Why won't you accept the fact that different people have different styles, different priorities and different ideas of what looks good? How is it stipud for someone to spend ten thousand dollars on a bodykit for thier car because they like how it looks, and you spending 10 thousand dollars on your engine is a better thing to do? Does this signify they are part of a skinhead cult? or that they are non-pariotic? Or that they hate freedom. Seriously, why is what people do to their cars SO important that you waste energy hating them and making fun of them because they aren't meeting your standards. How the f*ck will we be able to have tolerance for diffrent peoples religions, colors of skin, and beliefs if some jerks can't get over what other people do to their own cars. That is so depressing.

hehe, well I see that the Japan v.s. European deal has escalated here. Let me tell all yalls this...Would you spend $125K for a 2004 Porsche 911 GT3 or spend anywheres from $40K to $90K for a Nissan Skyline GT-R? I definitely would take the cheaper car, why? I'll tell you...1. you won't spend that much money making a 600hp beast instantly, 2. you'd still have at least $50 to $75K left in your pocket to take a few of your buddies out to the nearest bar to have a few drinks, 3. you'd be spanking someone's @55 beating someone driving that brand new 911 GT3 or a BMW M3 (by the way the current M3 only churns out 333hp from a 3.2L crankcase...a well known fact). Okay, now since we got the Skyline, Supra and oh the 3000GT thingy out of the way, lets focus on the "four banger" class e.g. Honda Civic, Toyota Celica, Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V, Ford SVT Focus. Remember now these cars mentioned DO have a racing background, The Civic, Sentra SE-R Spec V and the Celica being in the SCCA Import Class and the SVT Focus being in the WRC or World Rally Challenge. These cars have been beaten up by racing through lap after lap after lap, eating up many of the other automakers left and right on the racetracks while we have cars like the SVT Focus (Based on the Focus ST170 and the Focus RS) have been jumping dirt hills like it never existed in all mankind. Okay, Yeah 4 Cylinder-powered cars DON'T have the "nuggets" that the Bimmers, Benzos, or even other more EXPENSIVE and POWERFUL european cars have, but i'm sure with some time on your hands and a whole lot of money invested, these sport-compacts will be passing you like an F-14 Tomcat doing a fly-by over a snail. Feel free to visit J's Garage Export @ http://www.j-garage.com Exvitermini @ http://www.exvitermini.com Motorex @ http://www.skylinegtr.com or Sport Compact Car Magazine @ http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com

and the GT3 is not $124,000. the highest ive seen is $118,000 (R&T).
and i u think the skyline is cheaper to mod, your forgetting about the '04 svt cobra
390hp and will woop a skyline, then u can spend a few grand like u would with your skyline and put a twin tubro in the cobra than u get 800hp easily.

Where do you come up with this stuff?
Who cares what one is newer?
I said, as did some of the others that the GT3 is better
and they prefer it....jesus who cares.

its nissans fault they dont have a new skyline, the g35 ISNT a damn skyline, it isnt the same engine which they had since the 80s, it isnt awd which they had since the 80s.
the gt3 is new, but its nissans fault for not making a TRUE r35.
even the old gt3 will destroy the skyline.

1mic, there isn't an R35 that looks like the R34 currently, because its AGAINST THE LAW! Let me explain.. Japanese auto makers are NOT allowed to make a car in Japan on the same chasis for more than three generations.. Hints the R32, R33, and R34. The R35 has to be on a different chasis, which is why it is taking a bit longer than expected - I think.

BluCamSS, do you even like your G35 :?: because it seems to me you hate Japanese cars except for the Supra. It's like you're related to Jay Leno

Because I like the GT3 better then the Skyline that means I hate jap cars?
Where do you come up with this stuff? I choose the better car, the GT3.
I actaully like my G35 alot, but I've had more problems with that car then any
car I have ever owned before, and I have owned like 10 cars....

If we're gonna get technical, a G35 isn't a Skyline because Skylines are all right hand drive.
I guess the R32, R33, and R34's that used RB25DE engines aren't Skylines because they didn't have turbos on them. I guess the Skyline GTS isn't a Skyline because it used an RB25DET engine. Nevermind the fact that the trademark owner (Nissan Motor Company of Japan) says it is. Nevermind that the VQ35DE puts out the same hp as the RB26DETT without using any turbo, let alone TwinTurbos.
BTW the all-wheel drive is available on G35 Sedan.

a g35 isnt a skyline
1:it doesnt even resemble a ****en skyline, LOOK AT THE r32, r33 & r34
2:it doesnt have the same engine which the TRUE skyline had since late 80s
3:its using a v6
4:it has the same chassis as the 350z,
now i dont know about any stupid jap rule where u cant have the same chassis.... thats just ****en stupid.
skylines at least used a I6 and a variant of the rb2*
the g35 does NOT
there are even 4 door skylines
i dont really care about how much hp that v6 pushes, we all know how much the skyline could push if the stupid rule wasnt wasted
and i know the g35 sedan is awd, but that thing ugly.

a g35 isnt a skyline
http://skyline.nissan.co.jp/index2.html yes it is (make sure you get flash to see it)
1:it doesnt even resemble a [censored] skyline, LOOK AT THE r32, r33 & r34
r30 and r31 don't look anything like R32-34. That's what happens in a redesign.
2:it doesnt have the same engine which the TRUE skyline had since late 80s
3:its using a v6
RB25 and RB26 engines don't pass japanese emissions. That's why they made a VQ35DE, its a V6 that passes emissions and has the same output as a Twin Turbo 2.6L Inline 6 Engine.
4:it has the same chassis as the 350z,
now i dont know about any stupid jap rule where u cant have the same chassis.... thats just [censored] stupid.
Technically, it has the same frame as the 350Z, Altima, Maxima, Quest. Chassis is the body panels, which it does not share.
skylines at least used a I6 and a variant of the rb2*
the g35 does NOT
That was the old engine. Old things pass away so the new can take over.
there are even 4 door skylines
That hasn't changed. G35 Sedan AND Coupe.
i dont really care about how much hp that v6 pushes, we all know how much the skyline could push if the stupid rule wasnt wasted
You mean the agreement that states the max hp out the factory will be 276hp for JDM cars? We know how much the Skyline can push. Hell, bet you didn't know that my 4banger Camry could put out as much as a Skyline if I just spent the time and money on it, just like the guy who drives the Streetglow Camry Solara did. What's your point?
and i know the g35 sedan is awd, but that thing ugly.
To each his own. What's ugly to one man would be sick with the JDM orange turn signals or some smoke colored taillights.

well to me the g35 isnt a skyline, it doesnt have the nice engine or the awd system.
yea i know its a skyline in japan (i have videos from best motoring)
if the rb26 doesnt pass why is it stilll in the skyline? let alone r32- r34
yea technically the tahoe/trailblazer/h2/suburban have the same frame...
basically there built on the same platform.
an i6 can do more than any v6.
look at the supra, bmws, porsche
quit anaylizing everything i say its like your repating stuff i ALREADY know
yea to each his own in other words rice is rice, u think it looks sick and others vomit at the site...

1mic, c'mon man. are you kidding? the car is redesigned, and they still use the name. the G35 is the new skyline whether you like it or not.
well to me the g35 isnt a skyline, it doesnt have the nice engine or the awd system.
http://www.meggala.com/r34infopage.html
go there and learn a thing or two... not EVERY skyline has awd, buddy. in fact, only 3 out of 8 models of the R34 had awd. you're one of those uninformed folk who think every damn skyline in the world is a GT-R. take a look at the engine codes and the drivetrains on that site and keep in mind every one of them is a skyline.
you should be saying "it's not a GT-R" instead of saying it's not a skyline. and why's that? because they haven't even come up with the GT-R version of the V35 skyline yet. it's a skyline, just like all those other models of skylines are.

Well, that just about wraps it up folks. I apologise for anyone who thinks they haven't had ample time to post thier opinion or some obscure fact. I don't think there's an ounce more we can squeeze out of this topic and I'm afraid it's just gonna get nasty, off topic, and personal. Thank you, good night!
