Donkervoort is known as a company building Lotus-based cabrio's which are very extreme. Now they announced a closed-top version, the GT. Maybe this is a try to make a more civilized car. Or the GT is just nicer to drive when it is raining, which happens often enough in the country where Donkervoort's are produced. :)
At any rate, I like this car. The design proceeded (more modern) compared to the cabrio.
My question to you is: which do you prefer: the GT or the original cabrio?
Do you rather have the wind in your hair or a roof above your head?
Or don't you like Donkervoort at all?

Donkervoort were once Lotus 7's, so i like them straight away. Plus i prefer the idea of there not being a roof.
You cannot make a car like Donkervoort be more civilised and be serious. Its a nuts car so the fact there was no roof adds to the the whole nutter car image Donker's have

I would rahter just get a caterham and put the donkervoorts headlmaps on, because there great.
However, I take it this car isn't that big, but it looks massively long. I'd take it as an open top though, it would only ever be a weekend car.

I suppose they're alright, I would take a Lotus over them, but I suppose if I had to choose, I'd have the GT version, just looks a little better, looks like a Prowler though.

I prefer the GT model, it looks more of a vintage car that way and plus it will shield you from the rain:D lol...

The GT looks pretty good, so I'll go with that. I generally prefer cars that put a nice roof over my head while driving, with a few exceptions.

Looks like a Prowler.
Anyway, I'd prefer the GT over the open-top. I like the idea of going in high speeds without a roof, with winds ripping my face :), but realistically I like a roof over head. Especially cuz there's lots of rain in here and I dont like to get wet. Plus the GT looks cool and would have better aerodynamics.
So the GT for me.

The hardtop one looks reall cool but I'd rather have the topless one...

topless for me. And are those projector beam headlights I see in the front:D?

Normally I always prefer the cabrio over the coupé version of a car, but I'd take the coupe in this case because I'm a pússy. Honestly, I'd be afraid of the cabrio because of the lack of safety. The coupé probably isn't a lot safer, but I would get the feeling of being more safe in the coupé.

I like the fact that you need to lie instead of sit in the car.

What cars are the exceptions?
I really like the roadster versions of the Honda S2000, Mazda Miata Saturn Sky/Solstice, Lotus Elise... basically any small car that emphasizes handling over raw horsepower. I think adding a hardtop to those cars removes some of their fun-to-drive factor, and that is their main appeal to me.

I think the car is pretty much stupid, it's a track car for screwing around in and taking around on a coarse. I would not want one of those for driving around town or god forbid traffic!
Plus the whole thing is just a slightly different Caterhamm anyway, I'd get one of those if I was rich and wanted a new toy.
