One of the greatest car from Porsche.
This car came out in the year 2002/2003 (as a concept) and made it way out at 2005.
Powered by a 605bhp and this car could top 207mph if I'm not mistaken.
Although this car is slower than the 911 997 Turbo (0-60mph time) but it still beat the Turbo on Nurburgring
A car like the Pagani Zonda F got prawned by this car (lol) and the Zonda F produce more power and weights much lighter.

It even beats the car which most of you like and this cars has more power and weights less than the Carrera GT, the McLaren F1. CGT beats the McLaren on the west circuit by a second. The Enzo also loses to it by a 1.1second.

So, what do you guys really think of this car?

however, to repeat things ive said before, I love this car. Porsche finnaly desided to break the mold for once, thank god for it too.

But, more than the car its self, I really like the TT twin turbo 1000 hp version that I belive gemballa makes. THAT is a sweet car. Id like to see it go around nurburgring

The GCT is tied the the SLR 722 for my favorite german car. It's a beast. I don't think you'll get much more then that out of this thread because the GCT has been talked about forever.

^^ i like the SLR 722 better. I like mclaren + mercedes styling more and it's a limited edition. EVEN more rare than a Enzo.

hmm i don't really like the spoiler and how there are 2 bulges for the engine in the bak makes it kinda look weird.

I don't think it is really fair to compare the McLaren F1 to the Carrera GT. They are virtually light years apart from one another as far as technology goes. The McLaren is an amazing car from the late eighties that held many records for about 15 years. Now it can't possibly hold up to supercars from the modern era around a track. When a McLaren is hitting 190+ mph it starts to lose stability while the Enzo, CGT and SLR are extremely stable.

I never compare the F1 to this car. I'm just saying the fact. They both might be different from years but F1 is still a faster car if you wanna compare them. F1 could top 240mph, but why not cars Enzo, CGT, SLR? Technology, yea right. =)

^^ well the technology today cannot be compared as koenigseggfan have just said. It's like comparing Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna. They both were in a different era.

I'm having doubts though .. the nurburgring times seems not to make sense .. has anyone realized that the Gt3 beats the Gt3 RS by miles in that chart ?!? logically that doesn't make sense and doesn't seem to be possible .. lol this is actually the first time I realized that 911 turbo is faster to 62 than the GT .. but i'm sure up to 120 miles/hr the GT would take the front .. The late 80's? While I may be a product of the later 80's, the McLaren is not. It came around in the early to mid 90's. But what you said about technology being a long ways apart, that is very true. The McLaren, while being a ridiculously awesome car and in my opinion, the best car ever made, it does get very squirrly around corners at very high speed.

Back to the main issure, yeah the Carrera GT is amazing. It may not be the absolutly fastest thing out there, even when it was shiny new, but damn, what a car. Very beautiful, deadly fast, and what an exhaust note.

in many ways the CGT would be the winner. But do you really think that Mclaren can't make a car by themselves that can be fast but yet can be really fast in corners??? With the technologies these days alot of the impossibles are possible.

Well, maybe not McLaren, but some of his engineers can :)

well the CGT, i love it, almost everything is perfect except the wood in the interior, but its the trimming, so thats okay...its great, performance wise, the looks of it, the sound of it, i would have to say i like the facelifted version of it, and yes, it did have a facelift...:D

The Carrera GT has 612bhp not 605bhp.

CGT is nice. Love the way it looks. Shame it's gone out of production. It's pretty light aswell, and it's got 600bhp and a pretty nice speed of 207.

Looks brilliant in the first picture posted aswell.

According to RSportscars, the topspeed is only 205mph instead of 207mph .
Now its time to use Wikipedia.. surprisingly, it topped 215.2mph but I'll consider 210mph. 210mph is enough (although the higher, the better :D).
It does a 3.5second 0-60mph instead of 3.9seconds. Great!

but to me the CGT is Porsche's Supreme Masterpeice .. originally made to be a le-mans racer but converted to a road car ,, has a roaring V10, a very nice interior , and most certainley prescence.

"Masterpiece" is the perfect word that describes the Porsche Carrera GT , for a lot of reasons that i guess everybody know .

I noticed that car lover mentioned that the 911 turbo was faster due to 0-60
Now i'm not picking on him, but heres a useful fact for people thinking 0-60 determins a car acceleration
It only really determines the cars speed off the line, 0-100 or 1/4 mile times are what you want to be looking at, for instance
Areil atom 2
0-60 2.9

Ferrari Enzo
0-60 3.65
So you would assume the atom to be a quicker accelerater

nope it didnt ,, CGT did 7:40 i think , and the Zonda F was 7:42

I know most of those lap times are probably BS because it says the RS version of the GT3 is slower than the regular GT3. And the SLR matching the Veyron? No, I dont think so. It has way more power and still alot more grip than the SLR. The SLR is heavy too, so I just can't see them that close. I saw a video of the Mclaren F1's lap time, and it's bs imo. The guy isn't pushing it, he's too shy with the gas and doesn't take corners aggressively enough. They probably drive like that with all the exotic supercars....too afriad to scratch it a bit or get it dirty.
