I cant believe no one has posted this yet, but the new 911 Carrera is just fabulous. I love porsches and I think its great that they brought back the bug-eye head lamps. Those were my favorite part of the old 911s, Targas and what not. Anyway, all I can remember off the top of my head is that the Carrera S has a bored out 3.8 liter engine that reaches 350 hp. Not too shabby. They did a 911 mile or km test in Automobile magazine, so I will take a look-see at that and get back to you on engine stats and so on. I just cant wait for the 997 turbo :D :D :twisted: :twisted: :D

I was at a scca hill climb event and there was a 70s 911 racing and it was tearing up the hill, it didn't win but it was fast, this is one styling regression I'm happy with

Threre's been a 997 topic I started, but it never focused on the 'S', which is set to be a good car, opinions so far have it that Porsche have really made a fantastic range of cars, including their Turbo S (i think i read of a Turbo S) :D even though its not as good as the C4S which should be coming soon :twisted:

I've seen a ton of pics, and at first I was ready to shoot someone because the cars weren't very different a little exterior enhancements, interior upgrade (that's actually really nice i gotta say...), and a smidgin' of extra power.

That was before I realized this is a just a "gearing up" period for the 998 series to follow, those are going to be revoluitonary, in the meantime the new 997's are pretty as hell and the interiors have finally caught up with current trends. I personally can't really call the cars "new", just because they're similar, but that's just me...In the meantime I applaud the folks at Porsche for making yet another series of sexy cars. 8)

You can remove the badge or stickers if you like and then you have just 911 :P

Good point...But, and I might be wrong here, but I don't think it says "911" on any Porsche in production, anywhere...Which, is just plain messed up IMO. :D

There was one model of the Porsche 996 that was made to celebrate some anniversary (can't quite rememer what it was) which just read 911 on the back. They had it one on show at my local dealer. I

That's the new one, the 40th anniversary one...cool...gotta go spend 100 grand for a limited edition Carrera...sounds like crap to me...it at least looks nice.

The 997 is awesome looking but the only drawback is we'll have to wait a whole year for the turbo :( .

The 996 GT2 has been out for years.
The 997 GT3 will be the last of the model range to come out IMO. The order for the 997 will be as follows, I think: Carrera & Carrera S, Carrera 4/4S, Turbo, Cabrio, GT2, GT3, GT3 RS.
