]Based on the five-door hatchback, French car-maker Renault is apparently planning to release a small estate variant of the Clio, and this car might be regarded as the direct answer to PSA’s plans to introduce another SW-variant of their still-new Peugeot 207.

Like other makes, Renault hopes to gain new customers in emerging markets like South America or East Europe. Nevertheless, the car will be on offer in Old Europe, too, and we expect it to make use of the regular five-door’s engines, including 65-, 75-, 88-, 98- and 112-bhp four-cylinder petrol units plus the famous dCi diesels delivering 68, 86 or 106 bhp.

I don't think it'll look like that. The chop looks a bit clumsy, to be honest. I hope it doesn't, anyway. It looks overweight.

i dont agree with you over there, yes, there are french cars that are ugly, but look at the Clio RS, look at the Peogueots, they are really good cars, they do have good designers there, actually, some of the french cars are better looking than any other car in the world

Don't do it Renault, it's not needed, a Clio is a little car, end of, you don't need a "little big" car.

Exactly, there's no point in this car, the Modus fills up this point. The estate is ugly aswell, it's meant to be a little car that you can run around with, it shouldn't be in an estate variant!

I serously don't know why it didn't happen before, the perfect rival for the 206 SW or the Fabia Combi. It may not be the best looking car arround but it could be a good move for Renault, specially outside Europe. In fact I'm sure it could become a best seller over here, I mean we have the Clio 2 saloon (which is ugly as hell) but it sells good enough because its well prized and it offers a huge boot (500 litres aprox.) compared to the regular Clio.

That's why the Modus has nothing to do with this car, it may be a better and more confortable choice to carry people around but it can't offer that kind of cargo space unless you fold the back seats. The Clio Estate is directed to those that apreciate the practicallity of the regular Clio but need more cargo space and are not interested on buying a bigger and more expensive car like the Megane.

Bah. I think they should just keep it as a hatchback as well. They already have the Laguna, and this thing will be ugly as hell. The engine options don't seem too promising either. Nobody will buy this over, say, an Astra, unless it will be significantly cheaper.

That is awful... I quite like the looks of the new Clio, but that estate is just horrid. Ok, I can understand why it might be good for some markets, but it won't sell in the UK. The only new Clio i'm looking forward to seeing reviews on are the Renault-Sport Clio 197 R26 Formula-1 Edition or the new Renault-Sport Clio 197 CUP.
