^That's not the real car, those are the pictures of a 1:2,5 scale model being tested on Dallara's wind tunnel before the official presentation at Geneva on March.

I want one. Now. And a KTM 950 SuperMoto

Is it just me or does the the rear-end look like a sad emo smoking a cigarette?

Those tires won't be fun in the ugly reality of rain and slippery dog craps.

The back kinda looks like a Lotus Elise, with the taillights. Anyway, for looks, I'd probably take this one over an Ariel Atom, orange paint = good, makes it look crazy, but we don't know how it drives yet so we'll have to find out that later.

Atom vs X-Bow 'round the 'Ring, anyone?

it looks messed up.. and it should, its a track car :p

as far as i know audi will lend them their 2.0 TFSI engine, but tuned to 220-300 bhp.

it wil all depend on how much this weighs, if less than the atom then they will rival, but 0-60 in 4 seconds dosen't sound to promising

700 kg aprox.

in that case it'll probaly come close to a ferrari f430 or a gallardo

I think it looks cool, and as I said before, it's going to be bat sh*t crazy because it's a KTM.

Looks like a sportbike on 4 wheels. Very impressive.:smt045

Tom K, yea, looks pretty ugly fromt the rear veiw, the straight rear shot, but the 3/7 view of the back looks pretty good, but i dont see smoking cigarettes..:p

well the car looks great, the orange and black colour combo, the front looks very agressive, but i would prefer caterham bumper style, this huge bumper looks abit too fat maybe, but that protects some of the major parts and stuff, it still looks pretty good, the interior, nothing much, looks pretty good, very comfy looking...i hope some specs are available though

I think they should have thought of the wind tunnel before designing like, they whole thing. theres no way in hell that thing is aerodynamic enough.

style/retrweirdness= drag

but, maybe not. anyways, it could grow on me, if it were pretty good on the track, and in a straightline

Probably the latter.

I still don't know why you think you're some sort of super-genius aerodynamicist/engineer. Just because it LOOKS like it isn't aerodynamically efficent doesn't mean it isn't. To me, it's obvious that it has some ground effects, and a pretty decent sized wing on the back. The front has some little canards which I think are more than enough. Hell, it's main competition, the Ariel Atom, doesn't even have any real aerodynamics.

That thing can pretty much out handle anything else on the road, and it doesn't have any wings or crazy contraptions.

You can buy an aerodynamic pack for the Atom if you want mad mad track potential.

I don't think the KTM is a good looking car in the slightest, but I think it'll be pretty aerodynamic. One, it's a track car, and two, the lines generally dictate so.

Ive never said anything near the fact that im any kind of genius, let alone a genuis as pertaining to aeroymics.

the ariel atom looks to be much more aerodynamic than this car. why? well if youll notice on the atom theres a lack of odd things stick out at funky angles.

on this ktm contraption there seems to be an exxcessive amount of weird things poking out in every which way.

if that doesnt scream drag to you, you must not understand what it is.

btw, that was just my frist opinion after a cursory glance. I still dont think it will be a huge aerodynamic success, but it doesnt seem too bad. although the head lights, from what it apears in the pictures, should have glass over the hole thing, otherwise theyll catch air creating drag.

and the orange body panals in the front, I didnt realise their purpose in directing air towards the vents on the sides in front of the rear tires.

dont be hating just cause my opinion differs from your own.

if that doesnt scream drag to you, you must not understand what it is.

Yes but uncovered parts and that space frame, which are more or less right in the way of the airflow, do scream out drag.

You see that front assembly? That's there to deflect air away from potential drag-inducing components, such as the wheels, driver, and the suspension setup. It does a similar job to the 'sports car' noses in F1 in the 70's.

I'm not sure where you're getting your 'odd things that stick out at random angles'. If you look at it, the car is quite efficient aerodynamically for the fact that it trying to lose as much weight as possible. How do you reduce drag and also reduce weight? Add components that deflect the air away from drag hotspots! That's exactly what the front assembly does!

its looks like it may do well in the line of aerodynics, but its hard to tell from a 2-d picture. everything I said is only pseculation based on what I can see.

I quite like it. But I really hate the front. The front wheels are too far forward. I prefer an Atom over it anyday though.
