It will own really bad if it will be anything like the Z8, but it looks more like a big Z4 from the spy pictures.
By the way, I though it was supposed to rival cars like the SL Class. But they mention the Audi R8 and Lexus LF-A in the article.

Anyway , i think it looks like a Z4 but bigger , i thought that it was just a rumor , but it seems that i was wrong ..... but it just very early to discuss the Z9 , because i still have a doubt that it will be released .

erm......well as its got the Z badge its going to take alot to get out of the hairdresser, homosexual or porsche wannabe rut.

It now looks more like a somewhat shortened MB in camo. I guess it's gonna be more coupe-like than a roadster.

Z4 crossed with a 612 is what I see. But if it carries on the look of the Z8, I'll probably be happy. It's a really really striking car isn't it and it looks very nice. Performance off the Z8 wouldn't be that bad too!

Meh. Don't look too good. Looks like an extended Z4. Though I don't like all the different engine options. Just have one engine that everybody loves and keep it that way. But the rear does look nice. And a hardtop CC version might be good too.

It needs multiple engine options if it's supposed to compete with the SL. Although it does seem kinda stupid if they want it to compete against the R8 and LF-A

The Z9 would probably be less expensive if they just picked one type of engine for the car.

So far I'm extremely disappointed.

That aint a Z9....If anything thats the next generation Z4. C&D doesnt have a clue on product devolopment. How can I tell? Because the Z9 is going to be an SL competitor and believe it or not it would have ventilated disks and at least 19" wheels. Weve already seen spy pictures of the next 7 series, and because the Z4 came only a year after the 7er we can infer this is an early mule for the next generation Z4....

You also notice that their testing the N54 engine by looking at the exhaust...That engine isnt going to be available for a potential Z9...By the way thats a folding hard top roof covered in cloth, notice the trunk.

There is a lot of speculation as far as what this 'test mule', if that is the right word, is. Some people say a Z4 replacement, and others a Z9. I think this may well be the Z9, SL competitor, because it has a folding metal roof that has been covered to look like a fabric roof. Only time will tell who is right.

It is too early to tell what engines the car will come with, however the M5 V10 engine would be pretty good. BMW also appear to be developing a 6.3 Litre V12, according to the article.

I personally don't dislike the looks so far, and it is often silly to speculate what the end car will look like from spy-shots. Lets wait and see how it turns out.

I can only keep my fingers crossed on this one...

It's not like any of us will be getting one soon, so I wouldn't worry.
