The legendary Ferrari Dino should be back shortly (Winter 2008).Based on the Maserati Coupé GT, The engine should be a 400hp V8 with a sequential gearbox. The price should start at 100 000€ (131 969 USD)
What do you think of it? :D

Repost I think. But my god that looks good. V8 is surprising though, I thought Ferrari would go for the 6.0 V12 out of the Enzo.

I'll say what I said last time this photoshop came up.
I will hate Ferrari even more if they do this. Ferrari are throwing away Enzo's values like they were worth nothing. They have no real supercar right now, all of them are soft as fetta cheese. Worst of all they have thrown away the self imposed 5000 car a year limit. Its something like 7000 cars a year now, if this thing goes on sale with a sub F430 price tag that will just kill the company in the eyes of me and most others who have respect for Enzo and the companies heritage. On top of that the original Dino 246 was never sold with a Ferrari badge. This thing looks like sh*t even though its a chop.
This is what it should look like
http://www.fast-autos.net/data/images/3090.jpg
The worst thing about this car by far is the engine position. If any car in Ferrari's line up was mid-engined it would be the Dino. The 246GT was the first car out of the Ferrari factory to have a mid engine for the road. It would be simply and utterly disgraceful for Ferrari to give it a front engine. Its just sick.

we have already cleared up that no pictures have been spied or released officially so they are all chops and this is the repost of the century.

There actually were some spy shots on the internet a while ago. It looked like a regular F430 with ugly wheels and some testing equipment fitted to it, but that was just a test mule. Underneath the F430 shell was a 2008 Ferrari Dino!

thats good, so its just a F430...:D
but well, lets hope that it looks good, sounds good, performs great...wait...doh!

Nah... sorry, I meant that it was just using the body shell of a F430. It will be a totally different car when it comes out.

It's like little 599. However, I think 100.000€ is too lower to be true.

those pics are psed, so can we trust them? The interior is the exact same as the 599 save the red color. I dont know if im excited or not about it and i agree with lambo or holden that if they do go through with this, it should look like it used to. Theses pics do not get me excited at all.

it looks awesome (though it is a chop ;) ). the front is a 599 which is good and a V8 engine which i think it will have much in common with the outstanding F430's V8.
We are waiting Ferrari

Oh man, too bad I didn't read the original post...I have to say I totally agree with you, specially on the values part and on what you said about respecting Enzo's and the companies heritage.

Repost I think. But my god that looks good. V8 is surprising though, I thought Ferrari would go for the 6.0 V12 out of the Enzo. that would ruin the car, imo, the dino was the only ferrari road car (technically not baged a ferrari) to have a v-6, if ferrari made a v-6 that rang up to 9000rppm then that might pitch a tent in my pants.....

Let me guess. You got this off WCF?Nah, then the image would have been copyright Lehmann and/or for posting on WCF only, and there would have been a medium opacity WCF water mark across the picture.
By the way, I just found those spy pics of that F430 test mule I was talking about. From these pics it seems like it will be based on the F430... can anyone confirm this? cause if not, then we probably shouldn't be so sure about this is being the new Dino.

I don't know... maybe... not as far as I know. Meh.
This one's the only other Dino thread I'm aware of, and I can't find any spy pictures in the earlier thread. http://www.sportscarforums.com/f9/new-ferrari-dino-16222.html

Thats better than that photoshop from before but I still think it is wrong for them to make it.

I got lots of history/opinions on this one!
Enzo Ferarri's only son, "Dino" died in 1956 of kidney disease at the age of 24. Enzo wanted to honor him with a new model. Enzo had said, "A Ferarri is a 12 cylinder car." Funds dictated something smaller. The MR 206 race car's styling was loosely adapted for a production car. It was badged as a Dino.
It was alledgedly one of 3 most fun-to-drive Ferarris. A Dino 246's 195 MR HP pushing 2600 lbs sounds fun to me.
Stick a white circle + number on a 246. No production car will ever look more like a race car (except maybe a Bizzarini). Prove me wrong.
By the way; the only production Ferarri with a Bertone body was the 308 GT4; badged as a Dino, until the 308 GTB(snicker) came along.
FIAT owns Ferarri. FIAT is sucking wind. If they can make a few bucks badging a 430 as a Dino; buy one quick! It could be the last Italian Ferarri made.

Even though it's a chop, I really like the looks of this car. It seems to looka fair bit smaller than the rest of the Ferraris that are out, and overall the little design touches such as the vents in the hood really make the car look...finished lol.
Heretic

I hate the looks of that chop. Like SteveFX said, the Dino had a unique history, and was a fun little car to drive, if you overlooked the EXTREMLY cramped driving position. The seats were mounted solidly to the floor, with no adjustment.
The Dino is my all time favorite ferrari, and I would love to see it return to the lineup...just not looking like that

FIAT owns Ferrari. FIAT is sucking wind. If they can make a few bucks badging a 430 as a Dino; buy one quick! It could be the last Italian Ferarri made. This is a misleading statement. Yes, Fiat 'owns' Ferrari. They hold a 56% interest share in the company as a whole. They own the controlling market interest and they own the name, along with all of Ferrari's designs and research... past and present. What Fiat doesn't control is the creative design department and the production teams. The decisions regarding mock ups, testing, and production vehicles are done by a team from Ferrari. Kind of like a group of benefactors that were put into place before the majority of the companies control finally ended up in Fiat's lap. Fiat has had a hand deep in Ferrari since 1969 when Enzo sold the company's sports car division to them. Hell, the Dino's engine was a Fiat! lol... BTW... from what I've been told the Dino name was retired by Enzo and Piero right before Enzo died in 88. Even if they do go ahead and revive the name, the last thing anyone needs to worry about is Ferrari leaving Italy. Fiat won't let go of them... They use Ferrari's engineers and design teams for their own research and in turn flood Ferrari with enough funds to stay afloat every year...
