I hope it's not a repost :D
Jaguar has officially anounced the production of his new sport-sedan widely inspirated from the successful XK (and the Aston Martin Rapide).

It looks agressive and the engine will be probably a 462hp 4.2l supercharged V8.

Oh, damn; THAT IS A NICE LOOKING CAR! Not very Jaguar-ish, but still I love it..hmm...but it reminds me of some other car..but can't come up with which one..?
It's defentlie the most agressive looking Jag for decades

It actually does look pretty good, but it doesn't look like anything that will ever make it to production. The XC-F, or XF or whatever it's calld this week, may make it to production, but the design won't survive.

Perhaps they will improve it, who knows ^^

I was gonna go all ape-shite over the design when I looked at the first pic, but then the side on made me realise who much it reminded me of the DB9, and so it lost some originality to me from then on. The front is great, it looks so aggressive, but the rest is a tad bland in comparison.

It's OK, not sure I like all the futuristic stuff is for me though...

Oh it's just for posing on SCF forums lol, when we'll get the road version of this car, it will be different, but I really love this blue-lighted interior ^^

Whoah, that's going against the tide of recent Jaguars isn't it?
I thought the new XK was new age, and then Jag churn out something like this? Well, respect to them then!
I'm not sure if I like this concept though. yes, it's pretty pretty but the interior is just too ''concepty'' and it won't really give us a true indication to what the car is like.
What the hell, it's a concept. Nice one. Like the name aswell.

I love the exterior, very muscular looking. I can't stand the interior, the the neon laser junk is a nice touch. I can never understand why prototypes have those flashy interiors. I'd like to see a more realistic version of the interior, if there are any. I think it's a definite step up from what Jag has been doing lately.

^that interior looks flashy and unrealistic, and even cheap, for a jaguar, whats up with all the purple?
Ventus
Dec 27, 2006, 1:40 PM
I don't agree with you, it's not because they have used a neon-lightning and don't used the usual wood dashboard that is a cheap interior. It looks modern...and about the purple...huh...just for fun lol ^^

yes it's a bit flashy but think in this way, the S type was very ordinary so it's sucessor will be the very opposite.. jaguar clearly changed their orientation lol

Dec 27, 2006, 8:29 PM
When I saw the first picture.. then I think its ugly but when it comes to the 4th picture.. everything looks great again. It has a Jaguar look..
Hope it performs well.. I guess this car will probably compete with RS4..

Damn nice car!

A futuristic "ricer" interior, good lines, a grill that no longer screams "Aston", but screams "Mitsubishi"......
I hope it isn't this outrageous, too futuristic for me, especially for a Jaguar.....

It doesn't looks classy though, neon lights are not classy, and a jaguar is supposed to have an upscale interior.

Looks nothing like a jag, I'd rather buy the new Ford Mondeo which looks better and classier than this and its cheaper too

Dec 29, 2006, 6:11 PM
Bah, that space-age interior will not make it to production anyway. It will probably get a regular, boring but luxurious interior.

Ditto, there's no way in hell that interior with those lights, and those seats/ dash will be availble to customers.
It's not in-line with the past models it's replacing/ reconceiving.
If it does look even remotely like that I'll eat my words.

cant see most of the pics, its probably my internet problem, but wow, the front looks great, i love it, though the grill would be better if it was smaller, but that interior is too futuristic, but hey, its a concept, all concept cars now have those similar futuristic interior, but this, dont quite like the interior

Dec 30, 2006, 5:38 AM
Yes it's just a concept but I think the blue neon will not be available in the final road version :(

well i could finally load those pics and its still good looking, and yea, the interior could be changed, i mean the whole interior could be changed for the road version

Well not so much a Altea, more the Toledo:
From the grille and the lights it does a bit.

The lines, the design and all that stuff doesn't resemble the Altea at all, but in the end both cars kinda have the same expression... apart from the Jag being a bit more aggressive

the jag looks nice in the front but i dont like the intirior, its not cosy, but the white one with the purple looks nice. i wanna see the back of the car cause it looks back from the side view.

Yeah i dont like the interior either, the steering wheel looks weired and those gauges look bad. The outside of the car looks nice though.

Hmm...I'm not entirely sure what to think. On the one hand, I love it. It looks stunning, agressive and purposeful from all angles, with a flash interior and gorgeous profile. On the other, well, it's not exactly what I'd expect from a Jaguar. You see, I, unlike most people, like the old fashioned style that comes from Jaguars of old, and, even to a certain extent, the new XK (especially the interior). This is a complete and total departure from that. It's interesting to note, though, that possibly the most traditional aspect of the new XK is the interior, whereas the reverse occurs in this car. I think I'll like it though. It looks brilliant from the outside, and the general consensus seems to be that the interior of the production model will revert to the more pleasing traditional-luxury style. Which I prefer (except that fabulous steering wheel, though).

i like the lights, but the grill is simalar to the veyrons, basically meanign its total garbage.
i love how no matter what the name of the car is, everythign aston martin makes is distinctly an aston martin, even a totally ignorant moron can look at an aston martin and know its an aston martin. wether this is due to compelte genuis or lack of originality in they way their cars look, its pretty cool.
better than porsche if its the lack of originality. at least some stuff changes, rather than produces the same car years after year....

I wonder which will be out first; Rapide or XF?
And porsche DID change the headlights. once. then changed 'em back.

now that ford has sold aston martin i would have to say the raptide as it is in more of a production car poise, it will be interesting to see how the jags do racing now that they are out of the basement, it will also be interesting to see how aston and jags factory efforts at le mans will be...

Porbably not too good. I can't see huge development funds being poured into either racing team.
