'In thirty nine years of existence, the Montreal International Autoshow has seen nothing quite like it. Nicknamed the "Quebec Bomb", this first-ever Canadian supercar is the result of years of work by passionate designer Luc Chartrand.
It's called the Plethore, and it's built by HHT Locus Technologies. Built entirely of carbon fibre- a la Formula 1- the Plethore is motivated by a standard 750 horsepower engine, while a 1300 horsepower mill is optionally available. That's more horsepower than the entire Kia model lineup in a vehicle that weighs just 1100 kilograms. Those numbers give the Plethore the power-to-weight ratio of a photon torpedo, meaning it can easily achieve velocities in excess of 330 km/h.
Chartrand speaks about the Plethore's interesting central driver seat, a rarity adopted from racing cars. "Not only does it offer incredible visibility from the central driver position, it also has room for as many as three people up to 6'6" in height each... a true first for this class of vehicle".
Check out the Quebec Bomb at the Montreal International Autoshow from Jan 19 to 28, 2007 for a look at a machine that stands to push Canada into the international supercar scene.

the frond is ugly and the rear looks like a koenigsegg exploded. and it uses a 8.2 litre V8 from GM.

The front looks a bit riced out and the back , yeah , looks a bit sad.Isn't 1300hp in a 1100 kg car a bit too much and also useless?

IMO: you are right. that 4 thimes the power of a 911 in someting that weighs less than one. and you need a quite a good chassis that can cope with the power and handles well. and I don't think that the little canadian company is verry experianced in making that kind of things.

Man, the rear is sexy but the front is messed up! It's probably very aerodynamic anyway.
I probably wouldn't take it over the Veyron because nobody has ever heard of it, but I kinda hope it will beta the veyron.

3 seater? 1100kg and 750bhp.. thats fast..

Impressive facts, but I don't like the design a lot. Like more exotic supercars from small brands: the design is less important than the ultimate performance. The design has weird shapes - as if it's coming from another planet.
Supercars made by (little bit) larger companies have more attracting designs. For instance Bugatti or Koenigsegg. It is not only made to go fast, but also to look well.

That would be the point where a company called McLaren should rise and slap a fist on the table telling them that in 1990 a 600+ BHP producing car was produced with an interesting central drivers seat that not only offered incredible visibility but also offers room for as many as three people up to 6'6" in height each.
Just a minor detail I wished to add to this story.

I know you didn't because it sounds like the normal pompuous propaganda I know goes hand in hand with many similar companies.
Still, I think it's sad they want to force this centre seat upon us liek it's something brand new.
I can remember some obscure 1970's kitcar with 3 front seats and a centre seat for the driver. Forgot the name though.

Ooh, that's very interesting. it looks a bit like the lovechild of an Ascari, Koenigsegg CCX and a McLaren F1. Which makes it cool.
Those specs are awesome though, 1300bhp and only 1100kgs? Jesus, but that is amazing.
You know, just the other day I was thinking when a Canadian supercar would burst into our lives, and now comes the answer.
Go Canada.

As awesome as the Bugatti is...I think I'd take this over it. Personally I think that the Plethore looks waaaaaay better than the Veyron. Cheeky Girl had a god point too...it was probably designed by a true enthusiast but I have to disagree with one thing she said there..."probably". You don't build a hyper-sports car for something to do lol. You have to be a true enthusiast! Another thing someone here said was that a little Canadian company wouldn't have the experience in designing a chassis to handle something like this...anyone ever heard of the Campagna T-Rex? You guessed it, also made in Quebec, Canada! I can't wait to hear about testing and see some 0-60, 1/4 mile, and top speed tests. Look out world...small town Canada's got a legitimate contender! And yes...I am from Canada lol

The Caparo is much more extreme. The Veyron and the Bristol are relatively liveable. I don't know about this one, but it will definitely be better for everyday driving than the Caparo.

The front looks a bit riced out and the back , yeah , looks a bit sad.Isn't 1300hp in a 1100 kg car a bit too much and also useless? Why is it useless? It depends on the power curve and delivery. A factory car that's riced? That's just a dumb statement.
IMO: you are right. that 4 thimes the power of a 911 in someting that weighs less than one. and you need a quite a good chassis that can cope with the power and handles well. and I don't think that the little canadian company is verry experianced in making that kind of things. You don't think they're very experienced? Yes, thankfully they had a very reliable engine in a car that held many records for 12-15 years. Not bad!
This Plethore looks like a Lamborghini, Koenigsegg, Corvette, that Chrysler Concept supercar from a few years ago and many others. It's not orginal at all they just took the dimensions of all of them and meshed it all together. Any car manufacturer can make an engine crank out 1300+ hp. I doubt it's going to be reliable at all which at the end of the day counts. Really you dont need 1000hp to beat a Bugatti. Just innovative ways to make a car better than it is.

Coachbuilt? What exactly does that mean?
Sorry, I didn't make myself too clear, I was in a hurry. I mean coachbuilding, taking a car, and modifying its exterior to your own spefications. So basically, the chassis drivetrain, all that stuff, then slap my own design on top of it.
The ferrari P4/5 by pinninfarina is probably the most famous example of a coachbuilt car.
EDIT: Sorry about the double post, i wasn't sure how to put more than one quote into a reply, but I have just discovered the multi quote button.........

This car looks pretty cool from my point of view. I don't care that other people say the front end looks ugly and the back end looks like a jacked up King's Egg. Plus, the fact that it uses a GM motor to accomplish such numbers amazes me more. That'll stick it to all the companies like MB, BMW, Porsche, etc. who think their engines are the only ones that can accomplish 1000+ HP and achieve speeds of 330+ KM/H. And yes, the Lotus-like weight and extreme power would probably make this more dangerous than a TVR Cerbera (unless they put some traction control on it).

Me too, except I wouldn't go to overboard. Maybes just try and integrate the top air scoops better, so they sit more flush, and sit the bonnet againdt the body, as it sits up on the original, and for me it spoils the entire thing. Just make the aspects of the car that don't suit the roundedness, fit better.

Yes, go Canada indeed!
I have seen this before, and it is actually quite old news, but I am nonetheless thrilled to see a car - not to mention a Canadian supercar knock the Veryons' fat rear end off its throne. Another plus of this car is that I actually somewhat like the looks, unlike the Veyron. This car has a Lotus quality in its design that makes it look edgy and brash.

id like t see how well the engine gets its power to the road, and what it uses to do so.
