some of you may not know the carmaker donkervoort. It's a dutch private company who makes kind of lotus 7 style cars, but with there own twist added. they also had the record on the nordschleife for some time...

news is that they desided to make a GT coupe version of there car. and I think even the impressions look brilliant. and with engines from 180 to 270 BHP it won't be slow. roof wil be carbonfibre. it will be shown first at the geneva motorshow. here some pics.

Seen teh shape, general line of the GT labelled vehicle, the fact that it has a roof and will most likely have more of an interior then any donkervoort up to now I'd estimate it at 675-715 kilo. It's not going to be slow indeed.

A lot of the nordschleife special car won experience went in the design.

Holy cow it looks great. Just the name alone makes it sexy! It should be more rigid with the roof...but also heavier. I'd still take this over the roadster. It looks much cooler.

well the name does, but the front looks like a caterham with a top, the rear looks like a hot rod concept i have seen on the show, american hot rods...

I think its the way the cabin is perched so far back, adn the wheels so far forwards, the white colour and the biiig wheels

Looks good.. kinda like this car.. should be a perfect track car. 270bhp is a lot of a car weighing less than 1000kg.

^^ make that less then 750 kilo.
Donkervoort produced a 585 kilo heavy car for a while.
Very spartan interior.
Spartans are good. They'll save the world from covenant.
Spartan interiors good as well. They save the driver from being distracted.

Who needs sound insulation anyways?

This is great news. I heard Donkervoort was going to make a new model, but I thought it'd be another roadster.

The Wiesmann GT is a new model, not just the old roadster with roof. How would this new Donkervoort be: the original pure (Spartan) concept, just with a roof, or a new designed model?

EDIT:
well the name does, but the front looks like a caterham with a top, the rear looks like a hot rod concept i have seen on the show, american hot rods... Strange that it looks like a Caterham with top? No. Donkervoort is not the only brand that makes a Lotus 7-interpretation. Caterham does, and a few more small brands do.

For some reason the more I look at this car, the more I like the looks of it. It kind of reminds me of the old triumph TR6, and I liked that car too

Looks like a very nice car, the Lotus 7 was a cool design and the silver really suit the car, odd that I've never seen it around before.

It looks like an old version of a TVR. I wouldn't drive such a car around the 'ring, though. 650/750KG is probably too light and twichy for me. I'd take a Lotus/Caterham 7 over this in terms of looks. But, this car is overkill on the track, I'll go look for some videos.....

I did a small writeup on that a while back.
Lists most of the serious decendants.

Some others are available but only produced on demand/single request.

the owner of Donkervoort said the GT will be max. 20 kilo's havier than the roadster. the GT has the same chassis as the Roadster. but the boddy is a new design so it's 30 cm longer than the roadster.
