Jaguar is preparing a facelift for the company’s luxury model XJ. These photos are showing a prototype on a test drive near the Jaguar factory. It is featuring a new front- and rear end and a lightly remodeled interior.

With this facelift, Jaguar hopes to get sales of its flagship back up again. Due to the current model’s old fashioned styling it is not really a best seller at this time.
On the photos one can guess already the styling of the new front grille which is said to adapt the design of the upcoming new Jaguar S-Type. The prototype also shows that the next XJ gets air intakes on the sides like the Range Rover or the Portfolio XJ. The XJ restyling is scheduled for release at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2007.

Looks like the Facelift version is longer than the current one.

yeh rims are nice, i saw a photo of it in motor magazine.. oh no.. that was the bentley. sorryy..lol

I don't see any facelift, i see a X-Type and possibly an XJ thats covered up and only one difference from the present XJ(it has signal mirrors)

Looks quite long. Expect a lot of luxury and a lot of legroom. I hope the styling is going to be good, the old one looked a little bug eyed to me.

I'd get something else as well. The XJ is pretty old fartish, and it's supposed to compete with cas of the likes of Mercedes S Class, BMW 7 Series and Audi A8. It's gonna get owned, even with the new mouth.

Yes sure, even with that face lift it will have a hard time competing with Mercedes, BMW, Audi or the new Lexus.

The X needs a new facelift. It's the only really dated model in the Jag pack right now. The front of it wasn't a very pretty car to start with, the front end is pretty blunt, and it needs a new facelift to get that sleek look all jags are getting now.

hope it looks good, as the old one really rocks! but those headlights will make it slower, but its a hell of a car...
