Is the IROC concept just a better looking GTI? I think it is. VW should reproduce the VW Bus. It was an icon back in the day and it would be a hit in the US. Thoughts?

I hope they will reintroduce the VW Bus as well, but they made a concept a while back that never saw the light of day, so it's probably not gonna happen.

The IROC does indeed look better than the GTI, and there are rumours about a new Scirocco, so I think they will make a car inspired from the IROC. The IROC itself is probably just gonna remain a concept.

OK, i'm sorta confused. Is the IROC in VW IROC refer to the likeness of the IROC Camaro or something else?

I think VW stole the name just for the hell of it. It doesn't relate to the IROC camaro whatsoever, and VW has never had any car named IROC earlier.

I just saw the IROC VW. It looks nothing like the GTi. Where did you come to the conclusion that it looked like a GTi?

He never said it looked like the GTI. He asked if it's just a better looking GTI. As in what's beneath the bright green, frog-ish skin, I guess.

The concept is nothing like the GTI. It's using the awesome Supercharged and Turbocharged engine - but nobody knows if the concept actually exist and is fully assembled and driveable, so we can't really judge anything.

Shoot, Lamborghini once presented a car at Geneva with bricks in the engine bay to make it loook like it actually had an engine!

That's a fully driveable concept car, there are a few videos of it moving on the road.
About the bringing back the VW bus i don't think so, VW alredy have the Sharan and Touran to carry people arround so I don't see really were the all VW Bus could fit in the line-up

^well, replace them with a VW bus! But i think the VW bus will be more like a Caravelle than those Sharan and Touran. VW bus should carry many people, or else it won't be called a bus.
I want to see the new Sirocco as well.

well, liked the iroc concept, it was great looking with the colours and the steel coloured grill...well, its a concept, and its not in production, its not a better looking GTI, they are two different things IMO

They could make the VW bus again but it won't be cheap as you used to and I'm sure it would be Front engined too, so just as with the New beetle, it may look like the old one but that's it, just looks and nothing else...anyway, if you really want a VW Bus you still can buy brand new one (no, i'm not kidding), VW still makes them in Brazil but powered by a 1.4 water-cooled engine.

now thats some cool stuff.......though no VW buses were here in hong kong, never seen one...:D but well, a new fact..

It does work and exist then. But it's not like the GTI. It's more like the Golf GT judging by the engine.

Scirocco might the inspiration for this name but in common car culture IROC stands for international race of champions. People hear IROC and jump straight to the IROC-Z.

It might reach the roads, but then it will be made much more boring. No car as futuristic and cool as the IROC has ever made it into production.

Nah if you're driving a Bus, you'll be the one that's getting smoked! I believe the orginal one did 0-60 in 35 seconds.
If they made a bus I'd definitely consider it if it's priced well, but I wouldn't start smoking pot. My car will be a beloved part of the family, so I wouldn't let myself smoke in it!
