Ok this is a true story. It happened the other day when my dad went to the local jiffy lube to get his oil changed (he's 50 and doesn't have time to change his own oil). After ten minutes, the mechanic came back with a clipboard with a checklist on it, and the following conversation ensues....

(NOTE: My father's car is a 1987 Mazda B2000 pickup. Naturally, this car is not fuel injected)

Mechanic: Ok sir, your car is already to go.

Father: Ok, thank you

Mechanic: one thing sir, when was the last time you had your fuel injectors cleaned?

Father: Uhhhhhhhhhh, excuse me?

Mechanic: when was the last time you had your fuel injectors cleaned?

My father, being the joker he is, took advantage of this poor guy........

Father: OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, my fuel injectors!!!! Oh no holy moly i don't think i've ever had those cleaned! I hope nothing is wrong with them. Can you do me a favopr and show me where the fuel injectors are on my car?

Mechanic: Sure, right this way

(Both lift up the hood and look under at the engine. The mechanic looks around for the "Fuel injectors")

Father: So, where are they?

The mechanic looks up with a confused look on his face. My dad shakes his head and laughs and starts walking away to get the keys. As he's walking away, the mechanic says.........

Mechanic: So...........................you don't want you fuel injectors cleaned?


This is a totally true story. None of this was made up. You might not find this funny, but think of how great it would be if this happened to you.

ok, the mecaninc guy was saying to Mopar68's Dad that his1987 (good year :wink: ) MazdaB2000 needed its fuel injectors cleaned. Now, that car does not have fuel injectors, so his dad asked him to show him where they were, but the mecanic could not find them (because they don't exist), so Mopar's dad, knowing this laughed and walked away, the mecanic then enquired as to whether he wanted them cleaned still!
What everyone is laughing at is that the mecanic was going to charge him for some work that he was not going to actually undertake, like a rip-off scam :x

Well, personally I laughed because the mechanic was sooo stupid. Plus, he didn't know his own work. IMO he wasn't trying to charge for sth that we would not do, he was just plain stupid. :lol:

A quite similar thing happened to my Dad...
He was just going to get some kind of little something done and the mechanic happened to be our neighbor and instead of doing JUST that one little thing he did a lot of other technical stuff and Charged my Dad for all of it... mmm wasn't pretty
