The mayor of Pratt just bought an H3. I saw it yesterday at McDonalds. God what a joke. That thing is ridiculously ugly and useless.

What did you expect of somebody with a title like that?

I've seen a handful of H3s up here as well. As ugly and useless as it is, I must say that it's not nearly as obnoxious as the H2. In contrast I've only seen ONE H1 on the road, and it was driven by some guy in a suit...

I've seen a few H1's, many H2's, and a load of H3's. Around here it seems to be the "in" thing for all soccer moms to have?

I've seen a few H3's rollin' around before. I can't believe anybody would want to buy it. Even though it has an Inline-5, you get better gas mileage driving a pre-DoD Suburban. Plus, I probably couldn't fit in one with as low as that roofline is.

I've never seen a H3 in real life... but I've heard it should be pretty good in terrarin. Better than the H2, which was beaten by a Fiat Panda Cross on Nissan's terrarin test track out in the middle of nowheresville.
Plus, you are gangster if you don't use it for terrain driving, but just cruise around the city.

That used to be the case here. Here its every 4/5 cars are SUV's, and there used to be alot more H2's but the Soccer moms moved on to escalades/navigators.
Yeah the GM 5 cylinder powerplant really killed
any hope for this Hummvee wannabe...:|

The H3, in my opinion, is a ******ed idea. The proportions are messed up, the wheel arches look dumb, the body is too narrow, the wheels are too big, the interior is unemotional, and the seats are none to spacious.
Yet why do I like this thing? Its over priced, an expensive rebadge, and its just a name. But why do I like it?
This thing has so many wrongs about it, yet I would drive it.
I have seen many in real life and sat and have been driven in one, and I have to say it isn't to shabby......for a Hummer

Quite honestly when I was looking into H2's and heard about a new H3, I was excited. Then I saw the finished project, wow. I really think that it ruined HUMMER for me for the rest of my life. It's no longer exclusive, and now it's downright hideous. And there doesn't seem like there's a lot of love for it here on this board either.:D

to be honest i think it was a smart move to introduce the h3 no matter how hideous it looks, its cheaper and and a little smaller than an h2 yet is great for hauling a bunch of kids around (even though i see a lot of soccer moms driving empty cars)..... also id rather be driving an h3 than a minivan

Once you sit in an H2 you see what a joke it is. The H3 is just like a Jeep. I don't have any problems with it. Who cares if it's a Hummer, it's not trying to be like the H1. It's just in that odd SUV category with the Liberty, Pilot and MDX.

I would say the H1 is still the best among all of the other Hummer models.

they're ugly and the equivilent to a gay guy who works out to much, but i saw one with 28 inch wheels and a LS2 with a vortech and went 0-60 in 5.9 secs, that was really cool

I would say the H1 is still the best among all of the other Hummer models. The H3 and the H2 are way better for everyday driving. The only place a H1 is better is in terrarin, and 98% of all Hummer owners will never use their car in any tough terrain.

Used to be many H2's and a few H1's here in my Brooklyn nabe (not known for offroading, lol). Fuel prices soared, someone bought an H3- and I haven't seen any in months. More likely to see a 'playah' driving a Toyota, Honda or Hyundai than a Hummer now. The H3 killed the cool- the rest were repossessed.
The Ghetto era Hummer is poste-paste (thank god)

I can see that point but it's a joke to pay the premium over what the H3 really is... a Chevy Blazer.Lol, I didn't know that - I'd definitely take a Blazer over the Hummer then. The Hummer has gained a wrong reptation, so it makes you look like someone who wants to be gangster rapper when driving it.

I guess GM was trying to be environment friendly when they
downsized the H2 (Greenpeace hit list) to spawn the H3; however
they overkilled by slapping on the inline 5.A turbodiesel would've been more gutsy
 Oh well !

i think the h3 is alrgiht if someone actually likes how the hummer h2 looks but just cant afford the size and price. It could do about 20 mpg, costs start at around 30 grand, and is significantly smaller than the h2.
Tom Kristensen
Dec 06, 2006, 11:54 AM
It will only get 20 mpg at low speeds in a final gear on a good day. The weight and the engine size and the aerodynamics will kill the fuel milage respectively in the city and on highways.

The H3 is supposed to be a baby-H2 but a really bad attempt at it. Plus, you would think an Inline-5 would make a vehicle like that get great gas mileage but no such luck. I've read reviews that the combined MPG was at least 15 MPG which is about as much as you get in a Suburban.

It was a terrible idea- as I wrote on the last page. The H3 destroyed the caché of owning a Hummer- as if fuel prices weren't enough.
I'm surprised the boys at Cadillac didn't tell anyone at Hummer (especially so, given they're both GM cousins)- remember the Catera? Notice Cadillac has the very respectable SRX and not some knockoff GM truck based pos in their line-up.
What is it with US automakers? How many times must they learn the same lesson? Ford has done the same so many times- the latest was the X-type Jag. Now we've got the Ford Edge- how sad, but even sadder is the Lincoln MKX- Ford owns Land/Range Rover, and this was the best they could do for Lincoln? A brand they hope to renew as upmarket?!?!?!
Such down-marketing may work on other continents- but not here. There's a reason we don't get the BMW 1 series or the Mercedes A class, and it's not that they aren't excellent cars. There's also a reason the Phaeton was a total failure everywhere while the Bentley Continental is a smash hit.....
Brand image is everything in the US- muck it up (as GM/Saab attempted to do with its failure of a rebadged Chevy Trailblazer) and you've got yourself a consumer identity crisis.
Jeep/Dodge/Chrysler are soon to learn this lesson as well- what in hell is the offroad-incapable Caliber doing masquerading as a Jeep- and a drop dead ugly one at that?
God bless Porsche with their Cayenne- but an H3 ain't no Cayenne.

@Yes I do belive it is the in thing to have.
Have you gone to hummer.com i think they have videos and some other stuff so do your research
The only reason that you think they are useless is because the only people that drive them are the people that think they look good in them

I don't quite understand you post, but if i get what your saying your saying that cheaper cars from a high brand are a failure?
what about the Mercedes-Benz C-Class? What about the Cadillac CTS?
I dont' see whats wrong with the Ford Edge, i haven't seen one in person yet, but i have heard its an Okay SUV. The Lincoln MKX i have heard isn't a good SUV, but Lincoln Relies on that thier SUV's being cheaper than their counterparts will attract customers because of its lower pricing. Lincoln is still a premium brand name, and they have come out with some great cars over the past few years. The Lincoln navigator is gold for lincoln, and the LS was a great sports sedan. I don't really see how Land Rover could help lincoln, if anything land rover needs help.
