Sweet, too bad they won't ever make it for production.
One of my favorite parts on this car is that it has no spoiler.

That is one of the reasons I dont like the Pontiac GTO when compared to the Monaro, The Monaro looks more aggresive when it has no spoiler.
car lover !!

I like it.. it doesn't has the spoiler on the back.
wanna koenigsegg is right.. they look bored compare to Monaro.
Anyway.. this one is just great.. if they changed the rims , lower it a bit and paint it in black.. aggressive is the word.

well the engine is nice, though i hate the styling, it needs a spoiler and some bodykit...like the monaro or whatever it was called, great car...

Nope this uses an LS7, The HRT 427 used race orientated lemans engine. That is why the car cost so much and was never released.

^ Tuned C5R lemans engine to be precise, Bodywork and roll cage done by HRT (Holden Racing Team).

See, this is why I love American cars. You can buy a top of the line 427 from the factory with a kit and install it into your GTO. This would never happen in Europe. Maybe Japan, but god damn is that cool.

never happen in europe? except or mercedez right? you know all those engines go in another one...i'm sure SOMEONE out there makes kits for that.
anyway..nice ride 7.45 lbs per hp...not a bad #...not FANTASTIC..but not bad for a GOAT

I don't know about that. Unless it comes straight from the AMG factory, putting a certian V-8 into a car that didn't come with that V-8 would be tough. Could you imagine how much it'd cost to put something like a 6.3 liter into an SLK or something like that? I bet it wouldn't be as easy or inexpensive as this.

aint the Corvette and GTO's engines very similar..? the Corvette has 6000cc, wheras the 5700cc, but isnt it basically the same engine?

Yes they are both GM "LS" engines. The GTO/Monaro came with the LS1 (5.7) to start with but it was then upgraded to the LS2 (6.0). Both have the same basic block and share a lot of components but one has slightly larger displacement. Both have basically the same exterior dimensions.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

^ What he said. Both the later model GTO's and Corvette are equipped with the LS2 engine.
Its a shame that HSV/Holden dont build the GTO anymore, With the E-series power upgrade it would be kickass.

I bet it wouldn't be as easy or inexpensive as this.I know Germany has really strict laws about aftermarket parts, and I suspect that many other European countries are the same way. I suspect much of the aftermarket is required to have whatever parts certified for safety if it's not an OEM replacement.
