This is not just any old 7 Series, it's a 7 Series with rather limited boot space...

Since 1979, BMW have been working on their Clean Energy programme, and this is what they have come up with;

"Ostensibly, a BMW 7-series – a 760iL, specifically – engineered to run on either ordinary unleaded petrol or liquefied hydrogen. When burning the latter, it emits only water vapour and trace amounts of nitrogen dioxide and harmful particulates. That, says BMW, makes it the world’s first super-low-emissions luxury vehicle, and a totally sustainable means of personal transport."

It all sounds so great...it's a shame that there is only one fill up station which is in Essex and it can travel 125 miles on one tank. {A normal unleaded car can go approximately 425 miles} They also cost £80,000 and depending on the sources you look at, there's only 100 of these and 4 for sale. It goes 133 mph as well...

Now this is an important car, the first production (all be it a very small run) car to be powered by hydrogen. Dual fuel cars have to be the way forward in the interim period between traditional oil burning engines and whatever follows.

Yes the figures aren't that impressive but this wasn't really built to have huge amounts of power, it was built to get the ball rolling to switch over from fossil fuels. Anyways, the engine in Daimlers Motorpatent wagen didn't produce impressive numbers and look how the design principle has spread and developed...

Don't really have much comments about this..
I like this 7 series.. I've seen quite a few too.. I would say that this is a good idea but the owner of the car could only fill up in Essex. Nice idea from BMW..
