YEA GTR and SUPRAS
but the best looking car for me is the Honda NSX

What about the S2000? Isn't it great? Or the RX-8?

SUPRAS and GTR ...
for me SUPRAs are first place :)

I think the that the Skyline GT-R's are excellent street machines, but I'd dare say the  Acura NSX  is definity the highest quality Japanese car. I see it as coming very close to Super Car status. The S2000 and RX-8 are probably the current best pure performance vehicles, thouh the RX-8 beats the s2k with it's four seat in practicality. The NSX is more luxurius and comes with a lot bigger status badge. Maybe the GT-R 35 will mix pure performance and high class. Who knows?

Actually I love a lot of Jap cars Like supras GTRs NSXs and S2Ks RX8s Z350s MRSs
I think these all cars are a big success
Raith83
Jul 19, 2003, 10:19 PM
Oh, sorry I forgot to mention the Infiniti G35. A higher quality build than the 350Z in my opinion, albeit not as high performing. Still, one of those higher status vehicles.

GTR 34 for sure :).
Evo_power
Jul 20, 2003, 3:01 AM
Yeah dude, nothing can beat GTR POWER! R-34 is definitly the best looking out of all of them too  I can only hope that I can get enough money to buy one, until then, I'm rockin my EVO POWER!!!
Raith83
Jul 24, 2003, 6:35 PM
I enjoy the R-33's looks among Skylines the best. I have Sega GT 2002 and when I saw it in deep blue indigo, I realized how wicked cool it looked.
mallon
Jul 25, 2003, 3:40 PM
right now i think the R35 is the bes looking then the 34, 33, 32.
But the best Asian Car is either Sunaru or Evo, i cant decide.

I'm with Supra all the way.....
Too bad they stopped producing them in the states

Best asian car probaly the the NSX. It's really expensive, but i think it's worth the price. I don't know if this counts as real information, but I found out that the NSX is the fastest and best handling car stock from japan from Gran Tourismo 3. It's supposed to be really realistic. Hey, at least i'm honest. I like the styling, too. It's like an available supercar.
Raith83
Jul 31, 2003, 11:42 AM
I totally agree. Does anyone know if the Honda NSXs are available in the US? I don't think they are. Aw  I'd be able to afford the Honda before I could the Acura, ah well.

Maybe Honda NSX is only available in Japan. Grrr, everyone else is sooo left out :!:
Mopar68
Jul 31, 2003, 4:36 PM
Nope, the NSX is avaliable here through Acura. Nothing Changed from the Jap model. It's nearly $90,000!!! It's still cool though. But for 90 grad, I'll take a viper, thank you.
Evo_power
Aug 01, 2003, 3:29 AM
its 90,000, unless you wanna get the NSX S-Zero, which is closer to 100,000 :) Sure is one expensive grain of rice! Pretty fast too :D
Raith83
Aug 01, 2003, 8:57 PM
Hehe, yes, going slow DOES suck  But no, I was really reffering to the HONDA NSX, I know the Acura NSX is avaiable. The Honda doesn't have QUITE as much power or interiot refinement, more boy-street-racer. They're cheaper too, well, in Sega GT 2k2 at least :P I would think that would have some real world translation as well. 90k is dream car territory for me. 50-60k is "yessir, I'll take one for my midlife crisis"

Aug 03, 2003, 3:33 PM
Ack, you CAN't seriously tell me an Impreza is BETTER MADE than a G35 or NSX(the Honda OR Acura). Yeah, they're killer performers, but not the BEST QUALITY Japanese car.

Kinda more rice rocket, no offense (it's not really a supercar :( )

The Nissan Skylines are the best. So really the question is which Skyline is the best :?:
Raith83
Aug 04, 2003, 1:14 AM
Skylines are great cars, not as good as the NSX, I stand by that. 8)
Raith83
Aug 04, 2003, 1:17 AM
Of course the Infiniti G35 IS the newest Skyline in Japan, so yeah, that IS one of the best made Japanese cars. NSX is more powerful, has a better everything and looks alot better too.
RiceBoy
Aug 04, 2003, 3:45 AM
They shouldn't have made the G35 the Skyline (or vice versa, depending on where you live)......
The whole design of the car is not the same as the other previous gen Skylines (it's a fastback, N/A, etc.)
It's like naming a Corvette a Viper, it just doesn't work :!: :!: :!:
Raith83
Aug 04, 2003, 6:55 PM
I wouldn' go THAT far(don't cross manufactuors). Maybe calling an Intrepid STX the new Viper. Thats a bit closer.....The G35 is still powerful though. Mmmmm, tasty twin turbo kits on the way for it as well.

Aug 06, 2003, 10:54 PM

RiceBoy

Oh crap, I forgot about the NSX
So I guess da best asian cars eber made are da Supra, GTR, and NSX 8) 8) 8)
Thlam
Aug 22, 2003, 4:56 PM
as far as cars made by asian companies
Best supercar: of course the gtr R34
Best luxury car: the Lexus Ls430
Best suv : toyota Land cruiser ( also the best suv ever made)
Best roadster: Honda S2000
Best econobox: tie between Kia Rio and Toyota Echo
well thats my impartial list 8)
mallon
Aug 22, 2003, 8:19 PM
oh, dont like the idea of naming the Toyota Land crusier as the best Off road car ever! :)
i mean you get a Range rover for the same price and you get all the benifts of not owning a Toyota.
Thlam
Aug 22, 2003, 9:08 PM
LOL     you dam brits and your national pride, The Toyota Landcruiser IS THE BEST SUV ever made, and they are not priced the same it depends on model grade and if you comapre the land cruiser still is better and cheaper, there is something like a 20K price difference between the top of the Land cruisers and Range Rovers respectively(based on North American prices, if you compare the two for the british markets they are the same but hey LandCruiser is better). And if the range rover is so great as you seem to be implying then why are they used so rarely ? because they are over priced and don't get me wrong they do have off road abilities but compared to the land cruiser, I'd rather take that. And why is it that safari companies in Africa choose the Land cruiser over the Range Rover? because it is better. And why does the United Nations use Land cruisers instead of Range Rovers? again because it is just a better vehicle to handle changing climates. If the UN buys hundreds of Land Cruisers for work ranging from The far east to the far west. Then i think i would rather choose the land cruiser for my 2 block trip to the grocery store. The Landcruiser has also been around longer then the Range Rover so there is more offroad experience (range rovers started production in 1970, whereas the landcruiser was introduced 1954) there is just more of a haritage in owning a land cruiser. And whats wrong with owning a toyota afraid of something better then termite infested rovers?   I'll coment more later but i wanna watch television now :P

Hey, guys!!
In my opinion, there is NO ONE "bad" japanese sport car...
ALL they are super-xtreme wonderful cars!!!
Especially the GTRs and the NSXs :)
But...
In the relation COST X QUALITY X PERFORMANCE, the IMPREZA WRX and the LANCER EVO are the best ones!!
Without a doubt!!! :D

GTR-35 all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would go with the Supra and the GTR. But the RSX Type S or the Integra Type R.
RiceBoy
Aug 23, 2003, 7:10 PM
The R35's not really for me (my opinion, of course  )
It too luxurious than sporty now......................
I think it kinda lost its touch. And I'm not saying a luxo car is bad, I'm just saying that the GTR started out in the 60's as a sports car, and I think it should continue to be one
Raith83
Aug 23, 2003, 10:45 PM
Well, we need to actually see what its going to actually looks like first. I don't know of a solid production design yet.
NSX! Why do people suddenl forget this one?
ViperLover
Aug 28, 2003, 12:31 PM
Hmm... this a tough one. All the asian cars are great (excellent quality) but this is my list:
1. Mazda RX-7 and Nissan Skyline GT-R (especially the R33 series) :D
2. Subaru Impreza (all the versions)
3. Nissan 300ZX
4. Honda/Acura NSX and Mazda RX-8
5. Toyota Altezza (especially the 280T version)
Well, that's for sporty cars.
The asian makes are best known for their micro-cars and here's my list:
1. Suzuki AltoWorks
2. Daihatsu Storia X4
3. Mazda AZ-1
4. Honda Beat
5. Daewoo Matiz
And for off-road/SUV cars:
1. Nissan Patrol/Safari (all the versions)
2. Nissan Murano
3. Toyota 4Runner
4. Subaru Forester
5. Ssang Yong Rexton
6. Mitsubishi Montero Wagon
Sedans:
1. Mazda 6/Atenza
2. Toyota Chaser
3. Toyota Camry
4. Mitsubishi Galant
5. Mazda 323/Protege
Now, about the newest Nissan Skyline/Infiniti G35, I'm very dissapointed. It's sure a beatiful car but it doesn't matches the former Skyline look. Let's hope that the GT-R R35 goes back to the roots.

hey buddy the nsx is a great car but overall the nissan skyline kicks its ass by one hell of alot it has better take off duhhh its 4wheel drive while the nsx is naging in first gear while the skyline is already in 2nd gear haha nissan for life baby hahahah lets make that rb26dett engine blow this honda crap away you can say whatever the hell you want i don care cuz i no that nissan and infiniti will always provail

yea i agree.. nissan is the best jap car maker to me..... i mean they got skline... 350z..murano.. and the new maxima.. very nice. and i also like infiniti.... g35.. just wished it was better... maybe the gtr version would be better......if they made g35 AWD that would have been ok too..... i also like the fx. nice suv... and the 45 is AWD... can kik some serious ass.......so overall i like nissan and infiniti over all american companies. well some models are ok..... and most european.. except for the expensive kinds.... in the 100 gs....... but u cant forget the honda nsx and s2000.. cant wait till the R version comes to the united states. and hopefully the new supra would be good... so there are a lot of good asian made cars...... but nissan and infiniti for me........
Raith83
Sep 16, 2003, 12:07 AM
Again, NSX has much better build quality and status. Has the Skyline ever been offered with Leather interior? No. Which handles better? Well, NSX with it's Middle Engine layout. I really don't care about leather myself, but it's a large factor to most auto enthusiests. Ask any writer from any car magazine and leather makes a car more luxurious and better quality. SO! The best Asian MADE car is the NSX. The FLAT OUT FASTEST? probably the Skyline GT-R 34. I don't know any solid factory 0-60 or quater mile times on eithercar, anyone who can inform us is welcome to. Sooo again, Acura NSX!

So is the NXS's. We're not talking modified cars here, it's pure production ones. Der  [thanks for the stats Rice Boy] And hey! look! the NSX is faster, so once again, I'll say it(and for the last time!!) The NSX is the best made Asian Car....(ever! in my opinion  )

There are more NSX's than Skylines here in the states. But, it's still not that many (I probably see 1 NSX every 6 months and have never seen a GTR up close).

anyobody have a skyline with the speed limiter taken off?
but a 400hp skyline does 198tops, stock 327hp skyline probebly does around 165-175mph thats just a guess its hard to find the actual numbers unless you own a skyline and take it on a race track
i looked inot it a bit more and found this.....its a guy doing the theoreticla top speed of his skyline and in 5th gear, not 6th he said it cna top 162mph
