I have a Celica VVT-I with 143Hp, and I am from Portugal; My car gives 223 Km/h in 5 and in 6 235Km/h.
So a celica with 192 Hp give at least 230 Km/h in the book.

When you say 214KMH in 5
do you mean KM/H in 5 secondes or :?: :D

a 143HP celica cant get to 223km/h in 5th gear and sertanly not to 235km/h in 6th ,,,
something is wrong here ... the car is light weight but not that much ...!
i could belive if they were the figures of a 192 HP engine but not a 143 hp ....
by the way if it gets to 223 in 5th it should get more than 235 in 6th ....!!!!
tell me when you reached those speeds as you say .. were you riding down from a top of a hill ...! !!! :!:

Those speeds are outrageous from a 143 hp celica and i agree that the speeds from 5th and 6th gear are too close... whats up with that :?:

why is he posting to us about his car. i dont really cares what he drives unless if it was a cool car and he could tell us about it. and there is no was that that little celica could go that fast.

maybe he meant to post this in the Celica FWD thread.
(convert to mph for us americans -223km/h /1.6=139hp, 235 km/h /1.6 = 143hp)
5th gear would be doubtful to be that high without blowing out the motor, 6th seems plausible, but the top speed on those is 150 or 160 (IIRC).

the gear ratios are longer if a car has less gears. for instance in an automatic 4 gear transmission, with enough horsepower could have a higher top speed than a 5 gear manual of the same model. less gears means longer gears.
