I dont know if there is a MAIN reason behind Japan stopping production on all of its best cars (The Skyline, Supra, and RX-7) Are they just retarded? Or are they building them in secret, and I just dont know about um, or what! Cuz that pisses me off    :!:

Its right mate, but they still affordable and cheaper than other cars in the same category.
Like the S2000 there is no other fast and driveable car that is bitter than the S2000 and costs less.
an example the s2000 cost 33000 US $ it comes with leather great looking car wide powerful 240HP I cant find any cheaper roadster that got all S2k features.

in Israel to buy a new golf GTi with a minimum salary in israel you must work for 4years and 5 months
in the US you must work onl 1year and 7months
by the way min israel the fuel is expensive too we must pay 0.92 euro for a liter
for example to fill my mom Chevrolet malibu 3.1 V6 every week and 2 days we must pay 44.12 euros for 48 liters what do you think, yea yea I know "**** Israel"

well... i remember a few years ago doing a car price compare between the exactly same model, on US & portugal, and they cost less 10.000€ in the U.S.
i don't remember the car very well cus it was over 5 years ago... but if i'm not mistaken it was the BmW 525Tds
The S2000 in portugal costs exactly 44.780 € (i'm with the magazine on the hand :P)

Well, you know the GT-R 35 is going to be expensive. And if the Supra does have this V-10, thats going to cost a whole helluva lot too. I can't imagine what those of you who have ludacris car taxes would have to pay. I'd hope thye make a more affordable version of the Supra a as well, something with like a twin turbo I-6 or something.
If its any consolation, I only make 700 US dollars a month(well, I MAKE 1k , taxes blow) and wouldn't be able to buy a new GTi for 3-4 years, seeing as how I'm paying for college and other bills  (Mmmm, now I want one even more, hehe)

By the way, the R35 Concept was based on the Q45 luxury sedan (Damn.....)
Anywayz, yes, the Japs are pretty selfish. They never gave the U.S. the Type R, SiR, GTR, Silvia, and the list goes on and on.
I so wish we still would have the Supra selling in the states.....
The U.S. Supra got wiped off the face of the U.S. when all these stupid drivers (I'm not dissing myself, cuz I'm only 13    ) stopped buying it. And eventually, they stopped producing it in the states

hiya ppl
i do agree that the nissan skyline r34 ....... is one of the best cars in the world, for tuning.
it does look great and perform equally as great, but i stick to my country. i believe that a car like the Jaguar e-type is one of the best cars in the world. also I own a 5.3 v12 e-type.
I also think that a car like the classic mini is the best in the world. Which car can boast production throughout 5 decades, with minor modifications through each model.......................none, absaloubtly none.
Any one else a fan of jaguars or minis? then add me to your msn messenger list, and we can chat on messenger.
thanks for your time to read my message.

Well, the Thunderbird was made in the 50's, its had 6 decades, The Corvette started production in the 60's, its still here, the Mustang also has 5 decades behind it. Coarse they've all been changed quite a lot, but its not like the Mini is the longest lasting car.

He means being produced for 50 years without redesigning the mofo. 8)

Aug 04, 2003, 1:21 AM
Hehe, mofo........Anyway, yeah, the Mini never saw a bad day either, the others you mentioned had some pretty craptastic randitions. Just though I'd point that out. (Rally + Mini = Mini killing everyone!)
I believe the US is the main consumer of Japanese made cars. We have some strict emissions testing here as well as CARB, which pretty much dictates the standards for the rest of the US. Japan probably wants to keep all their cars marketable in the US, which is why they stopped production of some of their more powerful cars. More power usually means more exhaust. Not only this, but for a time the common consumer was in search for a car that would last longer with good gas mileage that could be easily serviced. They did not care for supercars. Now with the release of movies such as The Fast and the Furious and Gone in 60 Seconds more people seem to be in search of more power. Demand has to meet the supply or there will be a surplus, stuff that won't be sold. Car companies are out to make a profit so they have to make their cars appeal to the average consumer.

I'd just like to point out tha the US is the biggest cosnumer of EVERYTHING so that doesn't say much..."The US is the biggest consumer of Japanese exports" or whatever
