It's on the freggen sales sheet in black and white, and you don't believe it?

Whatever.....

The car is a 1989-1990 Grand Prix Turbo....
Chevy sent a 3.1 off to Mclaren so they could upgrade it with a turbo, then the car was put into production for 2 years only. They only made 3300 in 89 and 3400 in 1990. They also made 1000 of a 4 door version.

With nothing more than a ecu upgrade....some of these cars have done 0-60 times in under 5.5 seconds......

To all those interested....

My friend had a '89. Are you sure just a "chip" made it run a 5.5? Stock they were like 7.0 or so I thought? Regardless it was a nice car.......

Yea...but it depends on what chip.....

You have to go through the link above... The guy who runs it is a turbo guru by the name of Jeff Middauh.....He has some neet info on his site....

You could also just go all out and install a haltech e6gm ecu.......

it's definetly a cool car, but i still can't believe it. Every turbocahrged car i've been in has had signifigant turbo lag.

is it possible that the cars you have been in have larger turbos?

Or maybe the engine to turbo sizing wansn't done right?

a t25 turbo is the second smallest they make.......I'm pretty sure thats how they were able to dodge the lag......
