I was browsing ebay just for curiosity and i found something like this:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33598&it em=2464519367
It says this wonderful little thing will boost up your vehicle up to 20 bhp just for 5 $.
Has anyone heard of something like that or is just a plain s***?

chipping your car, im sure everyone's heard of it, but 20BHP is too much and $5 is too little. Sounds a little to good to be true IMO.

sorry but you are totally wrong !
this is simply a resestor ( you can buy one from any elctronic shop for less than a 10 cents ! )
when installing it changes the signal coming from the incoming heat senser which goes to the engine mangment system.
so the system thinks that the air is much colder so it changes the fuel percentage and the compression .
if it works !? no body knows but to tell you the truth the hole type of writting reminds me of comercials that will let bolds have hair again , or that they will make your dick grow 10cm ! or you will win 1000$ in 5 minutes ... and so on

LLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLL.
I also think it's BS... Actually, judging by White-Nights description I guess it can reaaaally hurt fuel economy... :?

Those ebay adds with the resistor are SOO fake..... snake oil I tell you....
Thats like those get rich quick jobs, or those penis stretching devices....hhhmmm not that I have ever tried them....hmmm
Seriously though.... how can a resistor give you 20 ponies.... if that were the case, I would just cut the circuit completely... I mean infinite ohms is better than 0-999k ohms with that philosophy......
