okay, well, the choice is between a Lancer Evo 7 or a Supra. Personally, I would take the car with four seats :P The Supra is a hella mean street machine, but most people aren't aware fo the prowess of the Evo. I would think the Evo would have better avaiability of parts because i'ts new and more reliable than a 600bhp+ Supra(not as likely to explode). The Evo also has AWD which I would think give it better overall tuning options. I don't think I'd try to modify the external appearence much, maybe the onyl tell tale signs of a Muslce Car killer would be a lower ground clearance form the suspension mods and the tailpipe, probably soemthing like a titanium catback. I find the Evo 8 to be not too unattractive myself, but I find that I am often alone in that opinion.
If the new Supra looks even 80% like the concept, I'd still get an Evo 8, despite what sort of power the Neo Supra would have, which I don't think would be anyting over 300 stock. There's a whole forum topic on just the Supra where I write more aobut what Ithink about it.
PS I would either have to have a NSX or an S2000 if I could pick ANY car from 2F2F
PPS Holy Shomly! It's too late at night for me to be doing this, I somehow thought the topic was too fast too furious.....but hey! I guess this post still has some validity

The Supra would own
The question was between the supra and the eclipse, not any of the evos. In any case the Supra was a V6 twin turbo that pumped out 320HP stock and seated a maximum of 4. It runs similar 0-60 (5 seconds) and 1/4 mile (13.6 seconds) times in comparison to the Lancer Evo. The Supra is a car that has been tuned and modded by a great number of people for a number of years now, which is why we see some pumping out power comparable to that of a stock Ferrari. There is a great availability of parts for the old Supra and with proper tuning you should be able to keep that 700HP tuned beast from exploding.
As for the new Supra, it is too early to say exactly how it will perform. However, based upon its past you can be sure that it should be just as tunable, which would mean there should be a ready availability of parts. I myself do believe the new supra should at least pump out 300HP if not more and it should definitely outperform its stock predecessor. Take the Nissan Skyline R35 into consideration. It is supposed to possess 400HP stock, a great deal more than the R34's 276HP. Toyota will most likely attempt to meet Nissan's bet if not raise it.

Best car in the movie was the Skyline, along with the S2000 and the EVO.

I thought that the producer of 2F2F was thinking to race with these cars the VW Golf Dahlback and he wanted to lose by the Skyline. Is it right??Of course Golf's owner didn't except it and he left the movie... :?

yeah the dahlback really nice and performant :D
Did anyone else get the feeling that Mitsubishi paid off the makers of 2F2F? It couldn't be a coincidence that the Evo and the Eclipse Spyder were the two cars focused on throughout the movie. Anyone should know that the tuned R34 would easily crush either of those cars. It doesn't make sense to me why they would destroy one of the best cars in the movie at the very beginning. On the other hand how did Brian O'Conner even come into possession of that skyline in the first place? He's supposed to be an ex-cop who'd been street racing, right? Yet he gave away the supra he had at the end of the first movie. Where did he manage to gather $90,000 from to buy the car and then at least another $5,000 to import and pay taxes? On top of that he was able ot get it painted and tuned? The movie didn't make any sense from the very beginning.
Sorry, I seemed to have lost sight of what this thread was discussing. If it were a question between the DSM (Laser, Talon, 1st/2nd Gen Eclipse) and the last Supra available in the US, I'd have to go with the Supra. The reason I do not mention the 3rd Gen Eclipse is b/c it is based off a completely different platform and is not turbocharged like its predecessors. A stock 98 Twin Turbo Supra would crush any stock DSM. After tuning the gap would be too great for there to even be a comparison.

Eclipse GSX would stand a chance I think, psh. Maybe I'm just nutty. Hehe, don't worry about 2F2F, its waaaaay too Holly Wood to even try to give it realistic content related thought. (I agree though, the Lancer was thumbs up, the craptastic Eclipse needed to be replaced by something better)

Modified Supra or Modified Eclipse if we are talking tuners, here is a link that shows one of the best 4g63s vs. one of the best 2JZ-GTEs. The 4G63 is 1.46 seconds faster in the Quarter-Mile. Please note the eclipse is the fastest car in this challenge! Please go to the Ultimate Street Car Challenge: Acceleration at http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/uscc/0303scc_uscc11/.
