What are the specs of this Supra?

RiceBoy
Jul 02, 2003, 10:51 PM
It's a 99% chance that it'll have a 3.5 liter six (just like the Z car).

And, do any of you guys have any pics of the back clip (I've only seen the front)?

Oh, and my opinion: I don't like this concept as much as the current gen Supra. The lights on the concept are too Celica-ish, and don't retain the Supra's oval-ish headlamps (the lights on the cureent gen Supra look so beautiful  ). I don't want Toyota to change them.

In all honesty the headlights look like they were taken off a Cougar. How much do you think it'll actually cost? Twin Turbo Supras from 98 are still selling for around 30k. One can only imagine how expensive this new Supra will be. The only thing I can find on the car are about a dozen different concept pictures.

and looks a bit like the New Toyota celica

Damn, the headlights do look like they were taken off of a Cougar

Anyways, in some issue of Motor Trend, they said the Supra would compete with the new Z car and would be around the same price as the Z.

I was think about cars recently (suprise, suprise) and was like,"Hey! Where's Toyotas killer app!?" The Celica, MR 2 Spyder, and Corolla S might be fun to toy around in, but they have NOTHING that I consider pure sports car, something Like Honda's NSX Type R. Bringing back the Supra? Super!(no pun intended) But how much of a road executor will it be? Thats yet to be determined, but i think that it should at least adopt a buff I-6 engine, something that made it unique, but still very potent. Now to the concept car: I must admit I totally agree that it looks almost identical to the new Celica, maybe with an aero kit and some other slight body modifications. I do enjoy the look of the Celica, but the Supra should NOT simply be a Celica with a better power and drive trane. I'd be very dissapointed in the big "T" if they failed to make a worthy addition to one of the best Japanese street ledgends.

I agree with you Raith on the I6 engine.

It's unique, and it's also smoother and has more torque than V6s 8)

Also, I hope that the concept looking like the Celica is not because Toyota is going back to its roots (the Supra was a model grade for the Celica back in the '80s)

I think its ugly...Its got too many curves and rounded things on it, its just not as cool as the last model. And I know a buncha people are gonna get pissed at me, so in advance FUC|< YOU  Its my opinion!

Yeh, and i just noticed something:

But who knows......It's just a concept 8)

I hope no-one's PISSED because of what you said Evo. I don't think people should get mad simply because your opinion differs from theirs, and if they do, you can just realize how shallow and simple minded they are being. Opinions and tases are unique to every person, there is no logic, no sense, no reason to dislike people or emote strong feelings because of these simple purely aesthetic differences.

Well said ...
i agree with Raith83 ...Evo your a car fan .. i know you like amercan cars alot .. and you have lots of knowlege about these cars ... but if someone dont agree you shouldn't mad ...
its only about taste ...
so chill out ... and if someone writes something you think is wrong.. just write your oposite opinion or correct him ...

Wow, it looks like there have been made some major changes, but not in it's advantage. The current Supra looks decent, but this doesn't. I seriously don't like it. It's to fat and to Celica-like. They could have simply taken the current Supra's design and made it a bit more futuristic, by making the lines sharper, changing the grill and lights a bit, stuff like that. I think that would have made the new Supra concept look way better.

Hmm, the car certainly looks like a Cougar... But it is still cool. It was about hour to show the next generation Supra, well, just the concept in this case.

It looks to me like the love child of a mid-90's Supra and a 2000 model Celica :-s It obviously took after the Celica. I'm not impressed.

a-spec only, but you already have the 4 door version - Avensis, although I don't remember if Eurospecs come with the 2.0L 1AZFE or the 2.4 2AZFE like the tC and the Camry.
