after reading about these new cars and their debuts, i decided on going a little old on you guys :)
ive got this classic on my hands now, and its the 1995 rangie classic, the boxy square one you see occasionally. anyway, its a brit car, was the greatest car a while back, but since its been over 10 years, everythings going wrong as usual i guess. rusting of the tailgate in multiple spots, front bullbar paint comin off, somethings really old for ignition purposes because when you turn it on in cold mornings, its terrible to drive immidiatly. when shifting into reverse or drive, it either stalls or the rpm goes down down down to like 200 rpm, which is mad low. recently had to fix a transmission fluid pipe, air suspension almost giving up on me.

electronic door locks dont lock on the right side of the car, and wiring to stock foglights like dissappeared. anyway, i dont have many rescourses to fix this hunk of steel, so can anyone help? of course there are more engine/electrical problems but can say... sorry to bring up the past again guys...

The classic Range Rover is one of the best off road vehicles available.
It's a good quality chassis with a decent quality bodywork finished with cheap parts.

My best advise would be to rewire the whole electronics. Have a look in the engine bay and replace fuel cables, coolant hoses, ignition cabling as well as all the little plastic and metal clamps and holding thingies hidden in there. After a general cleanup she'll be as good as new and ready for an easy further 100k miles.

It's a lot of work though and when you're mechanically minded you'd find geat help in teh Range Rover service manual. Best place to look for those is on ebay. Otherwise you'll end up paying $50-75 for the booklet. (It's that usefull)

so recently i came across east coast rover... and got a quote and info about all this junk. well, itll cost me 10k to finish up. since it rusted so much on the interior and out, theyre gonna go lift the whole body up and off the chassis, with seats and everything(what a job), replace rusty parts, put it through that glaze pool thing from keeping it to rust(anyone know what thats called?), replace my air shocks for springs, stage 1 or 2(stage 1 is 1" raise from stock height, stage 2... 2") before i do all this, i need to know should i replace my air shocks for springs or no? my left rear shock is leaking abit, which causes it to sink on a stand still when the car is off. since the car doesnt like to stay un baleneced, it goes and relevels it self so its evened out. well it does that until it hits the floor... annoying as hell.
again, theres rover for ya

PS: theres another thing, my engine as of now is a 3.9. should i get it swapped out for the last year of the 4.2's? its really expensive and doesnt really matter, and my engine now is in good condition.

If it's expensive and your engine is in good condition then I wouldn't swap.
