It's got power, it's got a short wheelbase, and it's got enough torque to cause a burnout.

At 80mph +...It's a modern German take on the old 427 Cobra...

The Kleeman SLK55 S8:

http://img126.imageshack.us/img126/5711/2005kleemannslk55ks8fa1600x121.jpg

5.5 liter Supercharged V8
596 bhp HP
568 lb-ft
108 bhp per liter
0-62 mph-3.7 seconds
0-124 mph-12.3 seconds
Top Speed -186 mph (electronically limited)

The thing will keep up with an F430 on a track...So it's handling has to be impressive...

Impressive.
I like the look of it too. They made subtle changes that make a big difference.
Isn't the superchared 5.5 liter V8 the same engine that the SLR has?

It's similar, but it's not the same engine.

damn.

well, if it can only keep up with an F430, then that's not that impressive. the regular SLK55 is 200lbs heavier than the F430 (201 to be exact), but im guessing this weighs a little more than the regular SLK. it is probly around 400 lbs heavier.

so, this car needs 100 more hp and over 200lb-ft torque just to keep up with the F430?

the car alone is impressive, but comparing it to an F430, it's not impressive at all.

I should actually elaborate.

The engine mods add 50lbs, and in stock trim it's only 3 seconds a lap slower than an F430.

With the Kleeman brake, suspension, and tire modifications, it'd probably be at least as quick if not quicker than an F430.

Impressive for sure, but I think putting a top speed limiter on the car when it can get you to speeds of 180 + is kind of pointless.

i see.

well then this should kill and F430.

the things got more torque than most heavy duity diesel trucks.

Another thing I should add is that the limiter is raised to 186mph for this car.

Aparently if you by AMG cars directly from AMG they raise the speed limiter to 186, back on topic without those rims and the Kleeman badge it would be amazing but as it is i'm not sure about the styling. Amazing car underneath though.

You have to go to the factory, physically, to talk to them about it. Sometimes they will, depends on the person and their driving history.

oh right because this magazine I was reading made it sound like you just turn up and they will sell you a car with higher speed limiter whoever you are

did you know Ferrari used to interview people before they were allowed to buy one of their cars?

I like it, I like it a lot... but I have to ask what you mean by enough torque to cause a burnout? My gf's Tiburon that she had would burnout off the line and spin the tires into 2nd and 3rd. I could anyway, she doesn't know how to slip a cutch, but still... burnouts arent that hard to do.

did you know Ferrari used to interview people before they were allowed to buy one of their cars?Steve Saleen still does that. I think they should. I also think that anyone buying a car with the potential that supercars have should be required to take AND pass a racing course...

^^ What kind of questions would they ask?

Maserati Man

they just want to make sure you are the kind of person they want to be seen in their cars. they want to see that you deserve that car, and they want to see that you wouldn't just buy their car and sell it right after to make a profit.

too bad those days are over.

I love the SLK55 AMG.....I wish MB will have the SLK65 AMG...
I love this one too....but IMO they should change the rim...change into SLK55 AMG....

It's probably hard to fit a V12 in that without doing body work.
Not a big fan of SLK55 rims. I like the S/SL/Cl 65 AMG wheels.

They still do.

In order to purchase an Enzo you had to have owned two new Ferrari's in the past -- rumors have said the F40 and F50, but I think that's BS. 400 people didn't own both an F40 and F50, considering only 349 F50s were built -- and you have to sit through an interview.

Not a big fan of Kleeman. They just don't know what makes a car good looking. Everything from the shitty rims, to the 'K' logo. But thats just my opinion ;)
