The idea for the GTM is simple. Design a modern supercar and price it where an ordinary guy can afford. The only catch is that you have to provide your own running gear (GM based) and you have to build it yourself.
After more than three years of engineering and development work, we are ready to introduce the world to our vision of what an American-designed Supercar should be. The GTM is an American V-8 powered, mid-engined car with a composite body shell and an aluminum and steel tube frame chassis. The car uses GM Performance engine and suspension parts with four-corner coil-over shocks, huge brakes and a Porsche 911 Transaxle.

In the Factory Five tradition, the car is first and foremost a high performance car. The GTM is light and aerodynamic, with excellent weight distribution and precise race-car handling/braking derived from the Chevrolet Corvette C-5.

The car is engineered to be built as a chassis kit by a person at home. More than ten years of manufacturing the best engineered, safest, best selling and easiest to build kits in the world has made us uniquely capable of this challenge.

Lastly, no matter how well engineered the car is, and how good it looks, in order to succeed we knew we would have to ensure the car had modern comfort and control. The GTM has a large and quiet cockpit, good visibility and modern temperature controls. Items like A/C, power windows, and complete interior make sure the car isn't limited to race track duty.

From the first design sketch to the completed production car the team has kept faithful to its charter to deliver a new All-American Supercar design. The GTM is an all-new design for us. It is 100% American designed and proudly made in the USA.

We humbly present our vision of The American Supercar.

I like the look of the car.
It's what ferrari would have looked like if they had remained true to their italian heritage instead of hiring a german to race their cars and an alien to design them.

To me it reminds the Ford GT in some way. I think it has some key elements copied from it.

HAHAH. Any im sure that there are tons of current production cars that are creative.Sure.
GT40 looks like a ferrari. As all early Shelby cars, they are designed like european supercars with american engines. This way is built the Cobra so the GT40 to be the Ferrari killer. Remeber the Ferrari 250GTO? Which shelby's model it looks like it.

HAHAH. Any im sure that there are tons of current production cars that are creative.

actually yeah there are..

The Prowler was creative, the Pheaton is creative, the Z4 is creative, the Neon SRT-4 is creative, the PT cruiser is creative, the Smart is creative, the Prius is creative, a car doesn't have to LOOK good to be original..

this car is just a blatent ripoff...like the Veyron..and like so many others..

I mean some other cars TRY and look like other cars, but they're SUPPOSED to..like the Retro stang..

this is just a 100% mock up

I own a PT cruiser. But that aside retro is far from creative in my eyes. It more like We ran out of ideas lets remake a classic. There is nothing creative about it. SRT-4 Creative? It took Chrysler 10 years to add a turbo to a neon . What did they model The Veyron After that makes it a rip-off?

Actually they took the idea that "young people want fast cars at a good price" added some semi-agressive styling and ran with it by putting a damn good motor in the thing.....

they didn't "add a turbo to a neon" they made a whole new engine for a older platform, and dropped the tag signifigantly...which god the neon out of the slump it was in....Because if you didn't know, before the SRT-4 the neon used to be the fastest depreciating car on the american market.

as for the veyron..

http://www.seriouswheels.com/pics-1990-1999/1991-Audi-Avus-FA-Studio-1024x768.jpg

this was a 1991 Audi concept car...The Avus....
See similarities? because when i see this car..I see "hey, so that's where every panel on the veyron came from"

I see how the Bugatti and Audi look-a-like.

But this is near or at supercar performance for less than 30K Aussie as long as you have a C5 vette. And those arn't hugly expensive.

God I like it, I saw a video of one driving around a parking lot, nothing spectacular. But the fact that a black one is out by a race track being tested is an old sign that it's being worked on properly.

Damn Im glad someone likes it ...lmao . YEah They have alot of great vids on their website. This will be a great car im sure. You could build that complete for under 40k. $19,999 For the kit and add another 15-20k for the Covette Donor.
