It's official. If the Audi lemans goes into production, audi will sell the car with a $80,000-$120,000 price tag. However, there is a catch. They plan to de-tune that sweet bi turbo to about 300hp i think. So my question is, should audi keep the 610hp V-10 and raise the price, or de tune it so it's an affordable supercar? If they de-tune it, would you buy take it over 911 C4S, Corvette Z06 or a viper? If they keep it a supercar, would you take it over a Carrera GT, Enzo, S7, SLR, etc. ?

great question. i would say keep it expensive, and let it run with the big boys - the enzo's, carerra gt's, SLR's, S7's. then again, more realistically, they want to sell more, and to sell more, they have to make it cheaper, and to make it cheaper, they have to get rid of the goods, and water it down. we'll see what they do. exciting stuff!

Well you have to remember Audi owns Lamborgini....so if it was kept as a supercar it would directly compete with Lamborgini in a way. And either way most wouldn't want a Audi supercar over a Ferrari, Porsche, Saleen etc....And also its "numbers" Audi gave can't fully compete with those supercars anyway.

So bottom line, Audi should make it a ZO6, 911 fighter IMO.

I'm SURE Audi will not detune the car sooo much down to 300 HP... It's very low for that kind of engine. As for the topic question, I think that Audi should detune the engine a bit, but not so much, so it can compete with upper class 911's etc.

I suggest to not de tune it, because you'll get much more money and it's more worth to sell the car like that. :)

They might make more money, but the world doesn't need another super supercar. They need something to fight the 911's and vipers and such.
