Mercedes has been really busy lately. First the SLR, now, out of the blue, another supercar due for production in 08'. It's called The P8, and it's powered by a 500hp V-8. It's aiming for the gallardo/ lemans/ GT2/ 575M, etc. I don't like it. It's strange. Tell me what you think it's worth produciton.

Yeah i like it good Spec as well the only thing that would put me off is the price :(

I saw this car on a cover of a magazine, but I didn't bother to read it. My first impression of it was it was ugly, but I am having second thoughts.

pretty good competition for ferrari and porsche.... and a 7 speed automatic :? typical of the ones in the S class.. but the price is about average, still it looks good :)

probaly, but i still think it shouldn't go into production. Mercedes is trying to fight every battle there is. They already have a couple of models that could fit that spot, like the CL55 and SL600 (which has posted 0-60's in the mid 3's).

Car and Driver got a 3.6 sec 0-60 time and a 11.9 sec 1/4 mile out of a 2004 SL600.
Its MUCH quicker then the SL55. The SL600 has really high (numerically) gearing to help it jump of the line, its top end acceleration isn't quite as impressive. Hell it better be quick for $140,000 lol.

It looks good imo. But is see two cars in it, the Audi le mans, and if you look real good to the front, you'll see the Enzo.

yeah i can see some enzo in there.

the sl600 is faster than the gallardo, 911 trbo, and viper among others. It is rather expensive though.

the acceleration may be faster, but the top speed isn't the same as those other cars. Same with the handling, build quality, etc.

I don't. More Gallardo/360 Modena if you ask me, but I think even thats a longshot.
