I voted saloon, but I'd have any of them-one of my favourite cars.
Why buy an M3?

Hah, I didn't make your mistake. I voted for avant. Always liked the old Audi combis (RS2 especially) and this isnt different one.

No I voted for the RS4 sedan But it costs a lot for its performance €69,900 to be exact here in Germany If I had that sort of money i would rather pass this one up and wait for another yr for the V8 M3 which is probably gonna cost 55-56 euro grands for the record it managed 1:15.8 at the hockenheim short track at the hands of Sport Auto editor Horst Von Saurma compared to 1:16.5 by the E46 M3

Yea, I'd rather M3 too, but did you see the spy pics of the new 3 coupe - its so ugly compared to the present model. Im not sure it will be DA CAR.

i like the look of the estate.. :)

Mar 13, 2006, 4:25 PM
the estate is cool because it can be a genuinly practical family car when you want it to be and it can be a very competant sports car when you want it to be. Ikea one day and nurburgring the next

Yeah the next BMW M3 is gonna be four door but perhaps will also be offered as coupe anyway not going to beat the looks of the E46 M3 or the RS4 AVANT

I voted for the Sedan.
Because it looks better.
But if I were to buy one of them right now I would get the advant. Because I would need a wagon to fit my dogs.

I voted for the Avant Just because it is more of a sleeper then the Saloon i would love to some young punks in a staiton wagon.

Mar 13, 2006, 5:02 PM
It seems to me like they would be slower 'cause of the added weight:confused:
vmax
Mar 13, 2006, 5:06 PM
yeh, cos the convertible would need extra chassis bracing to cope with losing the roof
porsche944
Mar 13, 2006, 5:14 PM
And Avant would be heavier thanks to the extra roofing material
vmax
Mar 13, 2006, 5:16 PM
yup, yet on those stats their all rated at the same weight

NONE!!!
ya heard me!,
I want a coupé, and since audi doesn't offer a coupé I don't want any of them.
BMW on the other hand DOES offer a M3 coupé.

Wait, how the hell are the Avant and Vert faster?Remember that in past times Avant Audis were the fastest Audis in production? Yup, i got to say it has to be heavier, but i don't know...

I didn't vote the RS4 sedan because M3 is better

Wait, how the hell are the Avant and Vert faster? It's the same case with the E55 sedan/wagon.
I heard it's because of better weight distrubution in the e55 which is RWD. I dont know what that would matter in AWD.

Audi makes such a hot "station wagon". The avant is so awesome looking to me. It looks more aggressive than the sedan. And the convert. is just ugly.

Mar 14, 2006, 2:32 AM
ill just have the sedan thanks. the cabrio looks crap and the avant is just unneccesary weight on the back end

Mar 14, 2006, 2:43 AM
the Sedan looks nicer and probably is more what your looking for as a 'sporty' car

Wouldn't the excess weight over the rear wheels give a rear-biased car (such as the RS4) give the Avant a straight-line advantage?

Avant looks great, sedan too, but avant has better aerodinamic and it s more praktical.

wagons are more aerodynamic than sedans? please explain? I would have thought the sedan's parabolic profile made for better aerodynamics than a wedge

Usualy wagons have lower drag coeficient then sedans. I think it has somethink to do with senan's two torbulences, one behind rear window and second behind car vs. only one behind car for wagon.
Aerodynamic can be weird sometimes :). Who would think pickup with tail gate closed is more aerodynamic as with open one.

the RS4 has 60% of the power to the real wheels. i dunno about the Avant.
but, i'll take the Avant most def. i think Audi has wagons down. they always look so good and proper. plus all i could use it for.
