With all the computers and controllers(fancy name for computer usually) on cars now I was wondering how they program the chips. How do the chips work in the car and how the chips chage the timing even if ya dont have the ignition control box?

Since OBD II came around in 1997 most cars don't have a "chip". You have to re-program the actaul ECU, thats what I had to do.

The ECU contorls the air flow and stuff, right? I thought it had nothing to do with timing.
