I have heard that single turbo can create more HP than a Twin Turbo, I was wondering if this si true or not.
Myself I dont think this is true, but hey I'm not a genius

Not to sure i supose there is a turbo out there that would produce more than some twin turbos but i would still go for the twin turbo set up... :)

Two smaller turbos are actually better than a single large one, it causes better breathing and less lag.

TOTALLY depends on the application!!!!

You are correct.....

In 90% of cases a single turbo is better, but you are right, it really depends on what your goal is....

i know everything about cars apart from things to do with the engine so i haven't a clue

TOTALLY depends on the application!!!!

So whould it be better to have a single turbo on a RS4 :?:
I don't know much about engines...... yet

RS4 --> V8
Thus, better twin turbo, one for each bank.

My brother n law has argued with me that single is better, but for the life of me, I can't furgure out why......

Twin turbos are about 3 times more work tho.....
Space constraints alone can be reason enough to go with a single turbo setup. Plus if you go with a dual setup, the intercooler issue magnifies the pluming issue.

I guess its a matter of how much effort your willing to put into it.....

I think a S2000 with a sequential turbo set up would be faster than a single turbo application. So in theory twin is good, but single is more practical.

Like BluCamSS said it all depends, You can have
Single Turbo - Longer spool times and in some cases can give more power
Twin Turbo - Cooler operation in the engine bay better breathing spools faster
Bi Turbo - 1 small Turbo that comes in real fast at lower than normal operations then it dies off as the bigger turbo is spooled all the way up, I have seen this on some applications works quite well but you are almost back to a single turbo then only differance is you get to it a little quicker

a single turbo is also cheaper

Bi Turbo
Bi-turbo = the same as twin-turbo.
The one you describe is a sequential turbo.

Didn't know exact term, Just know that when Porsche was testing it on a car they had called it a Bi Turbo but essentially it was a Sequential Turbo.

It all depends, if u get a (example) Supra which is twin-turbo, u could take them out and put in one huge turbo but will cause turbo lag. Then again u could get a small turbo and a bigger one, the small to get the boost started early and the bigger one for a bigger boost. So it kinda limits turbo lag while giving u a boost.
